Watch what will happen if Trump manages to regain the White House. One of his first acts will be to end the two term limit, or instate martial law, and never allow elections to be held again.

  3.  @DoSe420  More people had died of Covid-19, under Trump, than under Biden, but let's leave that lie to the side. How did Trump mishandle the pandemic? 1. Both Bush and Obama realized some emergent disease would hit the US, and did their best to prepare against it, including a national security group, to constantly be alert to new outbreaks, and sending experts overseas, to ward off any emergent epidemic. Trump ended or defunded every group or policy those two president had established, to prevent an epidemic. 2. PCR reagents have a limited shelf life, and should be periodically replaced. Because Trump had drastically cut funding to the CDC, they could no longer afford to keep those reagents current. Consequently, PCR test kits the CDC prepared, to detect Covid-19 infections, did not work. When the WHO offered the US functional test kits, Trump refused them. Thus, early in the pandemic, when test and trace could have prevented the spread of the virus, we could not adequately test. 3. Other developed countries prevented some spread by requiring any residents, returning to their home country, to quarantine for two weeks upon return, especially from China. When it was obvious that other countries had the virus, all returnees had to quarantine. Trump instituted a travel ban, only of Chinese citizens, and never required any quarantine of people returning to the country. This allowed the virus to enter west coast cities, especially those with a lot of high tech employees, from China, and to enter the east coast from Europe. 4. When it became obvious that several cruise liners were centers of infection, Trump did not want passengers tested, because he didn't want "bad numbers", and instead sent passengers to military facilities. Homeland security agents were sent, by Trump, to meet them without wearing any protective gear and those agents then spread the virus throughout rural central California. Those are just some of his mishandling in the first couple of months of the pandemic. He nixed a plan to send masks to every home in the US, despite the masks already being purchased. He coopted the information briefings, spouting dangerous disinformation, and promoting ineffective and dangerous treatments, just because he couldn't abide Pence getting any limelight. He treated federal stockpiles of protective gear, as his own personal property. He never made inexpensive test kits available to US citizens, as all the European and east Asian countries have done. And when pharmaceutical companies produced vaccines, he took credit for them, but did absolutely nothing to see them distributed to the residents of this country, leaving each state to its own limited devices. Frankly, I could easily write a 50 page paper on everything Trump did to mishandle this pandemic, but those were the highlights for me.

  6.  @jimbob3030  Protest never involves vandalism, arson, theft and assault. Please stop calling a full-on riot, a protest. You make our side look stupid. Riots only turn people against a cause. As soon as the first rock or brick was thrown, it ceased being a protest. Also, you are too loose with the term fascist. Just as every liberal is not a socialist, every conservative, or Trump supporter, is not a fascist. Many of those, who follow Trump, have grievances as legitimate as those you espouse. Rural schools are worse than inner-city ones, and they suffer from poverty as much, or more, than urban dwellers. Whether rightly or wrongly, they feel that they are oppressed, and insulting them only confirms this. We will never resolve our differences with name calling. Go ahead, and hate Trump, but don't hate those who think he is the only politician who speaks for them.

  7. People were very angry in 2000, when SCOTUS stopped the Florida count, and gave the presidency to Bush. No gallows were erected, no mobs stormed the capitol. People were angry, when Trump lost, because he lied to them, and told them a legitimate loss was a steal, then fired them up to attack. Trump is, and was, a rabble rouser, and the attempted insurrection was completely his fault.

  8. In case you haven't noticed, Trump and his closest acolytes are both slippery and have good lawyers. In order to put them away, the DOJ needs to present an airtight case. Unlike the last AG, Garland doesn't use investigations as threats, and isn't inclined to innuendo. You won't see any action until indictments are made.

  9.  @Deuteromis  Actually, the recount was finished in December 2000, well before the certification in 2001. And, yes, Gore had actually won Florida, and thus the presidency. But, Gore abided by the Supreme Court decision, mainly to prevent the sort of violence Trump encouraged.

  10. Do you honestly think he isn't going to run again in 2024? How long would we remain a democratic country, if he gets back in office? Do you think that the GOP isn't still under his sway? If he had gone into a graceful retirement, like most former presidents, nobody would still be talking about him. Instead he holds court at Maralardo, and eviscerates any Republican who dares speak the truth. Solid conservatives are being primaried by shady sex offenders, and winning. A Republican's voting record mean nothing, just whether they support Trump's lies. Look at what has happened to Liz Cheney. Look at Gonzales and Kitzinger, realizing they've no chance of reelection. Trump remains a clear and present danger to democracy.
