  1. Firstly, no, the poor in the US have it considerably worse than those in western European countries and Canada. Secondly, this country used to have fairer taxes. But, Reagan screwed up the tax bracket that more fairly taxed the country. We need to close the loopholes that help the rich, and restore SALT deductions that help the middle class. We also need more taxes on the wealthy.

  3. Prior to the rise of chain stores and eating establishments, there were plenty of local establishments that filled the same niches. They usually treated and paid their employees better. Life was better in this country before a few huge corporations gobbled everything up.

  4. Trump does not care about the suffering of government employees and contractors. But, he does care about fluffing his ego with a grand address in the House. Pelosi hit him where he feels it, his ego, since he clearly lacks compassion.
