  1. Well meaning people can be racist too. I was a parent helper in my daughter's kindergarten. They separated the kids into ESL and non-ESL. (Perhaps this is because they got twice as much money for ESL kids.) One little boy was stuck in the ESL group because he had a Hispanic surname. This kid was 5th generation Texan, and spoke only English, not a word of Spanish. They just assumed.
