  1. The east coast outbreak can mostly be traced to travelers from Europe, but the first outbreak, on the west coast, came from travelers returning from China. Despite Trump's porous travel ban, they were allowed to return from China, and not required to quarantine. Throughout the tech industry, marketing, production, sales people and engineers, traveled from China, and brought the virus to companies they worked at and tech conferences. And, the US was not the first country to institute a partial travel ban, but the 40th country to do so. And those other countries instituted a two week quarantine for returnees.
