My daughters always teased me for growing rue. It is a rather ugly herb, with a noxious odor to its small yellow flowers. And they noted, of all the herbs I grew, it was the one I never used to cook or dye fiber with. They said, "It's ugly and smelly, and you won't let us eat it. Why grow it?" When they went through puberty, I told them why I grew this nasty herb, that it was an aborticide. They teased me even more, as there was no need for herbal aborticides. The day after Roe was overturned, my older daughter called me, and said she now understood why I always grew this nasty plant.

@danielmanly4793 But, by overruling Roe v Wade, the unelected Supreme Court justices, three of who were nominated by a man who lost the popular vote by three million votes, took the right to choose a medical procedure, from the people who should make the decision.

@danielmanly4793 That's not how it worked when slavery was ended. Slave states would have continued to treat human beings as livestock, if the matter was left to states. How can a rational, humane society enslave women to unwanted pregnancies?

Because pregnancy is a horrible condition, and nobody, who doesn't want a baby, should be forced to endure such torment, because of someone else's stupid religion.

I don't care about the age of the court, but the fact it's decisions are being determined by their religion. Only a fifth of this country is Catholic, but we are all being forced to abide by their misogynistic and archaic rules.

It does matter, because those who can least afford another child, also cannot afford to travel to another state, to get the healthcare they need.

The US exists in a world where the human population doubles every sixty years. As long as people continue immigrating to the US, there will not be a shortage of humans. Already, there is insufficient housing for everyone. Why make it even worse?

No, what is wrong is other people determining what healthcare a woman may, or may not, receive. And, it is not a baby, until after birth. Stop using the wrong term.

No, what more people are worried about is, their teen daughter gets pregnant, and they have to travel halfway across the country, to a state that isn't ruled by religious zealots, to get her the healthcare she needs.

@danielmanly4793 What do all the justices, who voted to remove a woman's right to control her own body, have in common? All were the product of Catholic grade school, high schools and colleges. That is not a coincidence.

@brendab6666 Even attempts at sterilization sometimes fail. That's why, after a man has a vasectomy, a sperm count is done. But, when a woman has a tubal ligation, there really is no way to be sure it 'took'.
