@nickk4895 Only six states have banned child marriages. In the remaining 44 states, a young girl can be married to a much older man, if the parents permit. The worst case that I heard of was a girl who was raped at age 9, gave birth at age 10, and was married to her rapist at 11. Because a minor cannot initiate a legal proceeding, she could not divorce him. By the time she turned 18, and was allowed to divorce him, she had six children. It was her case that convinced the Florida legislature to ban child marriages.

@shade38211 Garland is a centrist, but McConnell wouldn't even let his confirmation go to committee. All three of Trump's appointments are Catholic zealots, intent on turning dictates from Rome, into US law. Don't blame Reid for Republican shenanigans.
