  1. The stigma they are discussing, is the stigma about admitting you are suffering depression. The ironic bit is that one of the side effects of anti-depressants is an increase in committing suicide.

  3. Because it affects them, personally, more. Humans are still tribal to their core. They don't live in Puerto Rico, or have friends and family there, so that tragedy does not affect them. But, this was a person who seemed to have it all. If he became so disenchanted with life that he ended his, so could you.
