@ChineseChicken1 Why do you think a mail-in ballot cannot be traced? Every envelope has a bar code on it. I am sent a text when my ballot is mailed to me, and when my local election board receives it and my signature is verified. If there is a problem with a voter's signature, they notify that voter. They couldn't do that if they couldn't trace the ballot. As to dead people from the 1800s, our voter rolls are linked to the DMV. I really doubt people in the 1800s were registered with a DMV.

@deena2100 These crackpots weren't just given the ballots, they were also given the voter rolls.

@eltorocal Sure, states make their own laws. But conservative think tanks often provide them with boiler plate laws, so legislatures don't have to reinvent the wheel, or in this case voter suppression. This was also a common practice of the tobacco companies, oil companies, and other corporate lobbyists.
