  1. When I was young, unions were strong and American workers received a good living wage. Now, unions are weak, and people are struggling to get by with multiple part-time jobs. My daughter worked for UPS, and thought her Teamster Union dues were more than compensated for by the good wage and benefits she received. This decision will hurt working people, and is another example of how Gorsuch works against the American people and for corporations.

  2. America did well prior to the Civil War because of slave labor. It was Lincoln who instituted the first income tax to pay for that war. Just because we had some rich robber barons, in the 19th century, does not mean the average American was well off. Until labor unions and granges instituted collective bargaining, workers and farmers barely got by. The prosperity for all, and a strong middle class, were positive outcomes of WWII, which was paid for by income tax. This is 2018, not 1818. Today, tariffs hurt a country's ability to compete in the global market. Look how Harley-Davidson has already sent manufacturing jobs to Europe, due to Trump's moronic trade war.
