  1. The small city I grew up in had such a constant temperature, around 70F, that it made my jr. high science text book. (The text compared it to a town in Kansas at the same latitude, with a far more variable climate.) People would whine if the temperature got over 80F or dropped below 60F. Now, it regularly has summer temperatures over 105F, and it snowed last year. It's weather is just more extreme, higher highs and lower lows. Plus the wildfire season used to be just during the Santa Ana winds. Now it's nearly year round.

  6. Actually, most of the methane released by cattle (and all other ruminants) is in their belches. Researchers at UC Davis have found by adding seaweed to cattle feed, methane release is reduced up to 85%.

  7. I see, so if our water is dirty, we should pump and purify our own water. And if our air is dirty, we just shouldn't breath. The things that need to be done, to clean up the air and water, and to combat climate change, can only be done by federal regulation.

  10.  @alangrigo9388  Actually, the heavier the vehicle, the more it benefits from using an electric motor, rather than a gas engine. Many European and Chinese truck companies are switching to electric. It is only our convoluted tax structure that makes it less economically advantageous here.

  14. It is not just the human species that is threatened. Many, more vulnerable, species have already gone extinct, and more are doing so every die. We are in the middle of a great die off, and we caused it.

  15. Because GND wastes a lot of money on social programs that don't address climate change. It's better to keep the programs that address climate change pure, free of expensive social engineering, so that the cost is not so great it prevents anything being done. GND is just too expensive, and it is socialist. In fact it was dreamed up by a socialist as a way of putting one over on us. Far better to really address climate change and have a carbon tax, like Canada does. And a carbon tax bill stands a decent chance of being passed. GND is a loser. We can't afford to lose the chance to save the world.
