A quick google search shows a GFRP (glass fiber reinforced polymer) coated rebar, rather than the usual hot dipped steel rebar, has twice the tensile strength and is much more resistant to corrosion. Perhaps it should become the standard near the ocean.

@stanwilson7040 Really? When this building was erected, the governor was a Democrat. And, in this part of Florida, most of local government is Democratic. If you think only Republicans were ever corrupt, read about Boss Tweed or Richard Daley. If you think this is a red/blue issue, you weren't aware in the 1980s. You want to know what area was like then, watch the old Miami Vice TV show.

Who are you going to arrest? Most of the people responsible, are now dead. It was the home owners' association that decided the pool had to remain open during renovation. Are you going to dig their bodies out of the rubble and arrest them?
