  1. I was raised in the Republican party, by very conservative, conservationist, pro-choice parents. When I first registered to vote, I did so as a Republican. But, when the party nominated Reagan, who had proven to be a profligate spender as California's governor, I left the party and knocked doors for John Anderson. Reagan turned out to be exactly what I knew he'd be, jingoistic, and a spendthrift, who deregulated and lowered taxes on the rich. My parents stayed Republicans to the end, but also stopped voting, as the party was taken over by religious nuts, who interfered with women's reproductive choices.

  2. Got my ballot in my mailbox, filled it out, and returned it in the mail. I'm glad my state voted to go all vote by mail in 1998. (Well before Washington.)

  3.  @orange_won  No, you can only vote once, you have to sign your ballot, and the envelop identifies who you are. As my state has been voting only by mail for 24 years, it clearly is fine.

  5.  @rightrightrightuhhuhuhhuh6516  Sorry, you're wrong. Seattle doesn't even make it into the top ten fastest growing cities, in the US. The five fastest growing cities, according to an Axios article last month, in order, were Las Vegas, NV, Austin, TX, Raleigh, NC, Bend, OR, and Boise, ID. Nevada is a swing state. North Carolina, Texas, and Idaho are solidly red. Only Oregon is blue.
