  6.  @miziko5  Obrador is a socialist. What has the US done? Nothing. Sovereign countries are allowed to join defensive pacts, if the so wish. Putin's paranoia is not based in reality, and NATO was just a BS excuse for Putin to steal another country.

  8.  @scottt7009  No, Ukraine has not always been a subject of Russia. They were a free nation, who sent pioneers to found what became Russia. They have been part of, what is now, Poland. When the Ottomans invaded, going all the way to Austria, Ukraine became a part of the Ottoman Empire. And when the Soviet Union dissolved, 30 odd years ago, they became a free nation again.

  9.  @drsyd3757  NATO is, and always has been, a purely defensive alliance. Unless Russia plans on invading other countries, it has nothing to fear from NATO. Russia's real problem with Ukraine is, they are a real democracy, and Putin's puppets no longer control its government.

  13.  Mars  You're living in the past. Canada is a member of the commonwealth, which is a coalition of nations, and still has the British queen as their titular head. But, they are governed by their own parliament. Their national anthem is no longer 'God save the Queen', but 'Oh Canada'.They are a sovereign nation, even if there is still a strong British influence (or French in Quebec).

  14.  @miziko5  Originally, Russia was just a Ukrainian colony. Your understanding of history is far too sketchy, to be lecturing another. I lived through the Cuban missile crisis, and bet you did not, and only know what Russian propaganda tells you.

  15.  @miziko5  I remember much of the history, you've only read about, and have a far better understanding than you'll ever have. As to Kerry, I never liked him. But, the US has not invaded another country, in order to annex it, in over 150 years. There is not excuse for what Putin has done, and your whataboutism changes nothing.

  16.  @miziko5  I look for truth in history books, like Barbara Tuchman's. And much of the 'history' you speak of, I experienced. I also had numerous friends, who escaped from the Soviet Union, and recognize its imperialist behavior, in action. Read a few more books, pisher, and stop lecturing your elders about that you don't understand.
