  1. Didn't the USSR first form in Russia? Wasn't the current leader of Russia a KGB agent? The USSR is to Russian, what the Ottoman Empire is to Turkey. And, just like Erdogan, Putin wants that former empire back.

  3. As if former Soviet leaders did not seek power for its own sake, and conquer other nations. Look at how Stalin tried to sanitize the reputation of Ivan the Terrible.
