  1.  @davemitchell6281  And when has appeasing a tyrant ever prevented a war? It worked so well when Chamberlain appeased Hitler, and he took the Sudetenland. Look at Putin's playbook. First he manufactures a false flag event, to prevent Chechnya obtaining independence. Just like Hitler blew up the Reichstag, as an excuse to declare martial law. Then, he grabbed some of Ukraine, and got his warm water port, and part of Georgia too. And, he used the same excuse Hitler did, a common language. Stand by, and watch without interceding, and soon he'll retake all of the former Soviet Union. And why stop with just East Germany, when he can take it all. Then he'll roll into Lapland and Sweden, then Denmark and Norway. And by the time the US gets over its isolationist tendencies, the war we'll have to fight will be much more expensive, in terms of US lives lost. Surely both world wars taught us something. We shouldn't repeat the same mistakes. We need to stand by our allies. They've stood by us.

  2. Stop making Americans sound like entitled brats. We aren't sending any of our troops into Ukraine, to actually fight the Russians. But, other NATO members, like recent members Lithuania and Latvia, are. We are only sending troops into NATO countries, as a show of force. It is very unlikely they'll see any action.

  5. If war begins, it will be Putin who starts it. This is more like seeing the school bully start moving in on the littlest kid, and his friends all come over and stand beside him. Bully deterrence is not war.
