  1. Prior to WWI and WWII, America was in an isolationist phase. Many historians have stated, if the US hadn't been letting "other countries solve their own problems", we wouldn't have had either of those world wars. Isolationism and nationalism go hand in hand. Don't be angry about the obvious correlation between US isolationism, and the rise of Nazism.
