  1. How would access to guns explain the sudden rise in shootings? It isn't like there was a gun control law in place that was removed a few months ago. However, many people in jail, awaiting trial, were released a couple months ago. While correlation does not prove causality, it is far more likely that the rise in shootings is due to the release of prisoners than access to guns. Don't mistake me for someone against intelligent gun control, like background checks and red flag laws, it is just your statement made no sense.
