  1. I would say that establishing the doctrine of the Catholic church, as the law of the land, despite a huge majority of citizens being against it, breaks faith with the country. By doing this, they are acting like the first line, of the very first amendment, regarding no established state religion, is moot. The Founding Fathers, who were mostly Deists, opposed to any organized religion, would be appalled.
