Delage Eric Except I know several Trump supporters who are courteous, and do wear masks. And last week, in the supermarket, there was a black man not wearing a mask. Most the people were shooting him daggers with their eyes, and he cussed at them for being mean to him for being black. He was told nobody cared that he was black, but he should put on a mask. So, it isn't just white people being assholes.

Mark bodman A key difference between Covid-19 and any influenza strain that emerges is we have vaccines against influenza ! Over 125,000 people have died from this in the US. In the last hundred years, we have not had such a deadly respiratory epidemic in the US.

@micahben-avraham5635 And until there is a safe and effective vaccine for SARS-CoV-2, it will continue to be a much greater health risk than influenza. What don't you get about a far greater death toll than we've seen in a hundred years?

Mark bodman Crunch numbers all you want. You cannot name a time, since the development of vaccines and antibiotics, that any infectious disease has killed over 125,000 American citizens in a few months.

@micahben-avraham5635 WorldOMeter also shows that 127,353 US citizens have been killed by this virus, to date. That number does not include the much greater number of them who are permanently disabled, by enlarged hears, scarred lungs, etc.

@micahben-avraham5635 You can only count the percentage of cases of death, against all resolved cases, not current infections. You have no idea if all those current cases will live. The total of recovered patients and deaths (ie. resolved cases) is 1,187,295. So the percentage of deaths (mortality rate) is a little over 10%. (127,343 / 1,187,295 *100) You need to learn math.

When did she lie? When she showed how drastic is the rise in cases, deaths, and positive test results? If you follow the data, that is exactly what is happening. It's really sad that most Americans are too dim to understand statistical modeling.

Mark bodman What do you mean introduced? New influenza strains emerge, they aren't introduced by humans. And, you really are blind, if you cannot see how much more dangerous this virus is than any influenza strain, in the last hundred years.

@DC-ck6bp When looking at the graphs she presented, of rising positivity, only an ignoramus doesn't feel urgent concern. She immediately discouraged Trump's insane idea of using light or heat within the body. But, both Birx and Fauci have to be diplomatic in their rebuking of Trump's stupidity. She presents the facts in a dry manner, but only an idiot is not alarmed by those facts. (Of course, it all goes over Trump's head, as he is not that bright.)
