  2. We do the same in Oregon. I guess the Pacific Northwest is just more savvy than the rest of the country. The best part is you don't have to go to the polls to vote.

  3. As long as you have the paper ballots, they can be counted by machine, but checked if there is a question. The 2000 ballot problem was due to hanging chads. If you used a scantron method, filling circles like on the SAT, this problem does not occur. The reason that people want more ID checking is to suppress the vote of poor people, this is just evil. The best answer is to have vote-by-mail. You have paper ballots, no racist ballot official will turn away people of the 'wrong' color, there are no long lines at the polls, and people need not take time off of work to vote. It has worked very well in Oregon.
