One major reason people are so disgusted with politicians, is their seeming inability to state an obvious truth, how they can speak for five or ten minutes, without uttering anything definitive. Maybe his people felt a need to walk back Biden's heartfelt statement, but the people welcomed his putting into words what we all feel. That his underlings felt they had a right to undo his statement of fact, is what is wrong with his administration. He was elected president, not them, and they should not lose their minds when he actually says something. If he got off the script more often, and said what he thinks, his approval ratings would be higher.

@MaltedJacker The whole expression means call a digging implement, with a pointed end, a spade. Only use the word shovel, when it has a blunt end. In other words, speak with precision and use the correct term.

Most people are happy he spoke up, and said the truth on all our minds. There is a reason the phrase 'mealy mouthed politician' is so often said.
