  1. When I was in junior high and high school, in the 1970s, parents could always opt their kids out of sex ed. Funny thing, most of the girls that got pregnant, were the ones whose parents had kept them out of sex ed. One of my friends, with super religious parents, didn't even know she was pregnant until her mother brought her to the ER with intense abdominal pains, where she delivered her child. She always wore these long, loose granny dresses, and was not allowed to take PE, so nobody knew. The guy who got her pregnant, told her what they were doing wasn't sex, and she didn't know any better.
