  1. About twenty years ago, when my older daughter was in high school, she and her friends were sitting on my couch texting. I said to my daughter, "Hey, your friends came over to spend time with you. Talk to each other, don't text other people." When they told me they were texting each other, I realized the ability to interact socially was dying.

  2.  @kurtwinslow2670  Once upon a time, when most of the information we got was in books and periodicals, only accredited voices were printed. It was easy to tell a textbook, from a vanity press book, and weight the importance accordingly. Now, any idiot with a crazy notion can publish their ideas as easily as a bonafide expert. Sure, nutcases could spout out their insanity, on a street corner, but we knew they were nuts. Often today, the most entertaining or provocative voice gets more attention, than a real expert. And that is even more dangerous, than not publishing every lunatic with something to say.

  10. Uneducated people often think they know everything. It takes a very well educated person, to realize how little they know. It's obvious you think you know it all.
