  2. It is quite disheartening to compare the gracious behavior of the dying McCain to Trump. McCain calmed his crowds when they got too rowdy. He gently corrected his followers when they told lies about Obama. But Trump is a pompous, bombastic, prevaricating rabble-rouser. He is an absolute disgrace and an embarrassment to our country.

  6. His approval rating is only high with the rapidly dwindling Republican party. He is the reason many are fleeing that party. They cannot stand the association. Americans with a grasp of reality and sanity disapprove of him. As for being a jerk, in that, nobody does it better than Trump.

  11. I remember it was mostly black folk protesting injustice. Did they attack the press? No, the wanted to call attention to their perceived plight. They welcomed the press.

  14. Never before have we had a president who called the press the enemy of the people. Dictators have used that term, because they did not like the truth being told. But, this is the first time a US president has behaved like a tyrannical demagogue.

  17. It's sad that you consider reporting the truth as smearing. Most of us would love it if the president did not continually embarrass himself and our country. But he does, with his petulant prevarication and posturing, and with his moronic and treasonous behavior. So, the press must muster on and continue to report all his ill deeds. I'm sure they'd prefer a return to a sane president.
