Scientists and experts speak use metric measures. Guess you don't like expertise.

CNN probably doesn't report who or what caused the fire because investigators have not yet determined what started the fire. None of the papers or news stations speak of these nonexistent arrests.

California didn't used to have such a long, intense fire seasons. All the experts know the change is due to climactic change from excess greenhouses gasses. In the 60's we were warned this would happen if we didn't stop polluting the environment. Experts have been expecting this for decades, and tried to get people to stop pumping so much carbon into the atmosphere. Even Republicans realized the danger, used to try to protect the environment. But, some people were too greedy, and made up this nonsense that we don't know what is causing it. Now climate change denial has become a Republican mantra. Trump may not have caused this fire, but his attitude towards the environment will cause the environment to continue to get even worse.

I'm sorry. I hope that they will be able to recover. I have old friends in the area as well. Last year, my old college roommate lost her home to wildfire. Insurance may cover the structure, but not the personal treasures.

Why do you assume they are rich? It's a middle-class suburb of Santa Barbara. Rich people don't tend to run vegetable farms, which is what the two older people who died in this blaze did.

You're right that it is due to global warming. But Trump is a climate change denier, and is dismantling the EPA. What we need to do is promote alternative forms of energy, ones that don't pump greenhouse gasses into the air. But, Trump won't.

It's being called the Holiday Fire, not the Hollywood Fire, because of the name of the street where it started. Goleta is about 100 miles north of LA.
