Every country has problems, like mental health problems and drug abuse. But, country doesn't have these mass shootings. Illegal drug use is higher in Iran, Russia and Afghanistan, so no matter what he thinks, the US does not have the worst drug abuse problem. There are 35 countries with worse income disparity, than the US. He doesn't even bother to look anything up. He just thinks we have the worst situation, when we do not. What we have is a ready availability of guns. The issue is not complex. We have a perfect example, of how to legislate gun control laws, in our neighbor to the North. Canada has hunters, yet they do not have all these mass shooting events. Let's follow their example.

@GiuseppePipia I agree with what you say, although I'd put prosecutors and judges in the innocent people category. We certainly have our gangs as well, not only the Sicilian Mafia, but Mafias from Russia, China, Japan, and Latin America. And yes, they can bribe their way around the rules, but throwing up a few more roadblocks, in their gun acquisition, is a good idea.

@WindFireAllThatKindOfThing Fellow Oregonian here. We also have people killed by drunk drivers, and always have. And they are handled the same way, driving under the influence is illegal, not the being under influence part, the driving part. Before legalization, my kids had an easier time finding weed than I did. I went through chemo, for cancer, and even though cancer patients were supposed to get legal weed, my oncologist didn't agree with the idea. So my kids bought it for me, on the black market. Now, that cannabis is legal for all, the black market has dried up. One side effect of legalization is, it's harder for minors to buy weed. We also can buy cannabis with no pesticides and other dangerous residue. Good luck getting black market pot, with a chemical analysis. Since we've now decriminalized all drugs, we'll see what happens.
