  2. No, the moral is you should not get a machine to navigate using visual sensors only. There is far too much rapid image processing, in the human brain, to emulate. It is much better to recognize a machine can take advantage of sensors that humans can't employ, like lidar, and do so. Also, the assumption that neural networks are always superior to rule based AI is incorrect.
