There is nothing contentious about the Jerusalem Day flag march, except racists hate it. When Israel became a state again, in 1948, many Arab armies invaded, to kill off the natives getting back any part of their land. The Jordanian army ethnically cleansed parts of Judea and Samaria, including the walled portion of Jerusalem. They put Arabs, from Jordan, in the farms, orchards and homes built by Jews. In their efforts to wipe Jewish history from the area, they tore down every synagogue and tore up graveyards, using stolen gravestones for building and paving, just like the Nazis did. Jews were not allowed to visit their holy places, and Christians could only visit Bet Lechem on Xmas. After 19 years, when the Arabs invaded again, the Jews were able to drive out the Jordanian army, and reunify the ancient Jewish capitol of Jerusalem. Jews were able to pray at the Kotel again, and Christians visit the Church of the Holy Sepulacre again. Jerusalem Day celebrates that reunification and freedom of worship,
