@crxess Nobody is claiming the UV light isn't good at sterilizing surfaces. But the same sterilizing procedures, that work well on inert surfaces, would kill living organisms, like humans. And anyone who cannot make that distinction is an idiot!

@Jason-cn5vo What an asinine statement! How exactly are people "spreading more germs by wearing masks"? The only way that could happen, is if people started swapping masks with each other, like an orgy with a mask swap instead of a key swap. Surgeons and OR nurses have always worn masks, to prevent contaminating the operating theater, because they prevent the spread of germs.

@Jason-cn5vo With this virus, the immunity acquired through vaccination is both more widespread, and more lasting. Also, as we discovered in Sweden, relying on herd immunity, through infection, means accepting far too many deaths.

@stonkr Actually, vaccination can prevent any infection. And if an infection does occur, a vaccinated person has a much lower viral load, and is far less likely to spread the virus to others. And, vaccination does not just provide a humoral (Ab) response, but a cellular one as well. There are memory T cells, as well as memory B cells. And, killer T cells, macrophages, eosinophils, and dendritic cells are a little more effective against this virus than Ab. We usually talk about the Ab response, because it is easier to measure IgG.
