  1. Are you talking about the same America, that turned away Jews, many well educated productive people, being murdered by the Nazis? The same America that laws preventing "the yellow horde" invading the country with restrictive laws against Chinese and Japanese people? We are the same country that considered requiring (white male) noncitizens to be in the country 21 years before they got the right to vote. This would have even applied to those who originated in areas this country absorbed, like California and Texas. If you think this country always welcomed others, with open arms, your grasp on history is very, very weak.
