  3. The main question is not if these politicians will survive, but why did all these stories come out at the same time? Clearly this right-wing rag is trying to undo the election. And while blackface in the '80s was extremely tacky, it was not illegal. (I also find the fact that he wore blackface to impersonate Michael Jackson ironic, as Jackson spent a lot of money on bleaching and plastic surgery to look white.) Rape is not just misogynistic, it is illegal. Perhaps there should be an investigation of the rape charges, then a special election for all those offices held. Let the people of Virginia decide whether they want a Republican or a flawed Democrat.

  5. Did you see the segment on Bill Maher's Real Time, where Malcolm Nance opined on this matter? He said that rather than white folk screaming in outrage, they should first ask black people how they feel. He was more concerned about whether the way Northam governed was good for black people, and felt it had been.

  6. The difference is what Northam purportedly did was not illegal. What Kavanaugh and Fairfax are accused of doing was illegal, even back then.
