  1. My question is about why a Radiation Oncologist, specializing in prostate cancer, was put in charge of the FDA. He probably wrote few prescriptions, and did not install devices. He is in charge of a field which he was only peripherally trained for. He certainly is not an expert on infectious disease, so his reassurances are moot.
