"Potential crimes" are not necessarily convictable, in a court of law, rather than the court of public opinion. When Trump is finally charged with some of his crimes, the evidence had better be airtight. We all know Trump has accepted $250 million, in donations, for legal defense. So far, he hasn't spent it on a single insurrectionist, but you know he'll spend it to defend himself. We've all seen a team of expensive lawyers get obviously guilty men acquitted, or given the most trivial of sentences. (Simpson, Epstein) Garland has stated nobody, and that includes Trump, is above the law. But, the law had best be backed up by irrefutable evidence before it indicts. We've seen lower level coup plotters charged. We've seen high level coup plotters have their homes and offices searched. DOJ is clearly on the case. Cupp needs to stop pretending not discussing investigations, is the same as not investigating.
Wittes is brilliant, as usual, in his presentation. But then, he is a real lawyer, unlike Cupp, and knows the subject matter.
