  1. In the US, laws can only be overturned if they are unconstitutional. In Israel, laws are overturned, by a self appointing judiciary, based upon partisan interests. They even overturn Basic Law, which is like overturning the constitution. Overturning laws was never a power legally granted to the courts. Most countries, that lack a constitution, don't allow any law to be overturned. But, the courts decided they didn't like democracy, so just overrule it.

  2. You're portrayal, of what is happening in Israel, is tainted by racism and lies. When Israel originally became a country again, it was dominated by soviet leaning European Jews. As Arab dominated countries drove out Jews, the majority of the country became Mitzrachi (oriental) and religious. After darker skinned Jews began to rile against the tyranny of the left leaning government, the Likud came to power. This upset the left leaning courts, that were dominated and nominated by communist sympathizing Jews of privilege. They took power, that they were never legally granted, to overturn any law they did not agree with, based upon their personal idea of "reasonableness". Any law, that helped the majority, and might have made Israel a more just country, were overturned. The privileged still think religious and Mitzrachi Jews don't know enough to be able to vote intelligently, and all these protests are like when white parents protested against school integration. They say they are for democracy, while fighting for autocracy and racism.

But, in a country where the rule of law was respected, illegally brought prosecution, based upon illegally brought investigations, fabricated evidence, and coerced and altered testimony, would be tossed out. Why was the investigation into Gantz, defrauding the Israeli police instantly quashed. The courts, prosecutors and police are all corrupt and partisan. There cannot be justice, until the nepotistic, partisan, corrupt judiciary is reformed.

The courts have been overturning any democratically passed law they want to, even Basic Law, which is the closest thing to a constitution Israel has. What the courts have been doing is illegal, corrupt and partisan. Reform is needed to restore democracy.

  8. There is no justice in Israel. Court reform is needed to restore justice and democracy. The suggested reforms would only make Israel a bit more like the US, and other democratic country.
