Nixon didn't resign because of the break-in, even McGovern admitted that Democrats pulled similar dirty tricks. It was the cover-up that got his AG tossed in jail, and made Republican leaders ask him to resign. Trump commits his crimes in the open, and brags about them, that is why he gets away with them. And he doesn't just make Nixon look like a stable saint, he makes Harding look honest, and Reagan of right mind.
