The problem with reporting on Trump is, he generates a flurry of outrages all the time. Each outrage is quickly replaced by the next, in the public's mind. Yes, the press, and many Republicans, were outraged by each incident you name. But, over time, Trump's abhorrent behavior has winnowed out most of the moral Republicans. They left for organizations like the Lincoln Project and the Bulwark, or just gradually faded out, and left the party. There are now very few Republicans left, who are troubled by his ignorance, racism, lack of patriotism, and his nasty demeanor.

For all you who say racism is what the Republican party has always been about, you're wrong. I remember a time, when all white southern bigots were staunch Democrats, Dixicrats, and black people (although it was rude to refer to them that way) mostly voted for the party of Lincoln. When Richard Nixon was VP, he was a good friend of Dr. King, but could not convince Eisenhower to push forward civil rights. So instead, that fell to a southern Democrat, LBJ, a well known bigot, who pushed forward civil rights for purely political reasons. He knew, if he did so, he could secure the black vote for Democrats. Even after that event had the results LBJ foresaw, the Republican party tried to suppress the racists, who donned the cloak of religious piety, from taking over the party. Buckley and Goldwater fought against the John Birch society, and kept them from gaining power in their party. They were not pleased with Reagan, who also was a bigot, due to the influence of his second wife. (Her father was a prominent member of the John Birchers.) Now that they, and good decent men like McCain, are gone, their party has slipped into the abyss of bigotry and religious intolerance.
