@TDashem Except that is false. Gain of function research was never conducted. Because the threat of another coronavirus epidemic was so obvious, samples were collected from wild bats, so that labs would have a library of virus, in case a new epidemic emerged. These viruses were either stored, or passaged in mice, which does not lead to "gain of function". And, if you look at where the first cases of Covid-19 were located, they were mostly near open air meat markets. The labs were on the other side of a river from the first cases.
