  4. You're forgetting the major factors causing inflation, increasing the number of dollars in the system, without revenue, always leads to inflation. And also, the prime lending rate is about zero, which also causes inflation. We can't do anything about the excess unsecured money, but we can raise the prime rate. That always cools down the monetary system. There's no need for price controls, higher interest rates will do the job.
