@gacj2010 I've got news for you. The virion cannot survive outside of droplets, that are much bigger than a smoke particle. Masks have been demonstrated to work, in numerous studies, in multiple countries.

Few things are fool proof. But nothing works when you don't use it. And these fools are saying their children shouldn't use them.

J W The assumption is whatever virus or bacteria is in the breathe of the patient, is already in their body. It isn't being introduced. And often a patient is intubated, and not breathing freely, anyway.

@zjean3417 It's less that their immune systems are stronger, than that they haven't had the time to amount many of the comorbidities elders have, and their immune systems don't have as strong an inflammatory response. Children tend to get higher temperatures than an adult could withstand.

@dragonfly3816 Children under 12 can't be vaccinated, so they must be protected in other ways, like masking around them.

@Real Aiglon Au contraire, there is not one reputable study that shows masks don't limit the spread of the disease. You're pulling the old 'I'm rubber, you're glue' defense. That doesn't work on anyone over 6.

@bradynlotterman8164 What utter tripe! Many surgical operations last for hours and hours, yet the surgeon doesn't swap out his/her mask every 20 minutes.

Yeah, because there are no mask riots in England and France.

There already are little kids in the ICU, and a small child died of Covid in Louisiana. But, truly selfish people don't care about other people's children, and can't comprehend their child could be next.

When schools impose ridiculous dress codes, you don't see parents having screaming fits. Do these parents think their child could show up without pants, and be admitted. Then they should have no problem with a mask. There is always distance learning, for the children who really can't wear a mask. But, I don't think it is the children who are the problem, but their selfish parents.
