  1. The assailant was a follower of the Pillow Guy's conspiracy theories. While I'm not one of those, who claim speech is violence, all the political animosity, and lies being told, by far right nutcases, can cause real violence. That is not to say some of the lies, told by the far left, have not caused violence, but only one side still is claiming the results of the 2020 election were fraudulent, and encouraging "retaking our country" by any means.
