  1. She's right, if you were not an adult in the 80's and 90's, you don't know how bad crime was. Tourists avoiding visiting the US, because our crime stats were so bad. Black community leaders, not just whites, were screaming for something to be done. The crime bill had some very negative unintended results, but the whole country wanted it.
