Who wrote this title? The ethnic cleansing of the Shimon Hatzadik neighborhood happened in 1948, when the Jordanian army swept through, throwing any Jews into prison, and stealing the Jewish owned homes and land. Israel made a mistake, in 1967, when they drove out the Jordanian army, by allowing the illegal squatters, that Jordan had installed in those Jewish homes, to remain, if they paid the real owners rent. Many later stopped paying that rent, and that is why they are being evicted. It was never an Arab neighborhood, and its real name is not Sheik anything. It is Shimon Hatzadik, and the owners have a right to throw out any tenants that don't pay their rent.

Can you imagine this being a controversy in any other country? Imagine if, a group of outsiders, made a big deal about the French, marching with French flag, in Paris on Bastille Day. If anyone objects to Israelis, marching with the Israeli flag, anywhere in the Israeli capitol, it just proves their intent to drive the native people, the Jews, from their homeland. Anyone objecting to Israelis flying the Israeli flag, should move to another country. There are many Arab lands for them to go to, where they won't have to see the Israeli flag. They could move to Jordan, and live on land stolen from Jews, without any problem. Any claim that flying one's own flag, in one's own capitol, is bigotry is insane. Nobody says flying the US flag, in DC, is bigoted, even thought that land was taken from the native people.

You know if it was an Israeli murdered, the PA would be passing out sweets and celebrating. After 19 innocent people were murdered, in several terror attacks, mostly from the Arab occupied parts of Judea and Samaria, the army finally tried to disarm the terrorists. An Arab journalist rushed into the middle of the resulting gun battle, and was shot and killed by one of the Arab terrorists. The terrorists were heard to exclaim, "We hit him, he went down", happily claiming responsibility for her death. And yet, the internet was flooded with highly edited videos, with very old timestamps, which they said was proof the IDF shot her. Of course the PA won't cooperate with an honest investigation. They don't want the truth known.

Hart needs to relearn history. Black Africans were never kings in Egypt. The now gone ancient Egyptians looked more like people from the far east, and that is who ruled when the kingdoms of the Upper and Lower Nile, were united. Then they were ruled by the Greek Ptolemy family, then the Romans. Then the muslim invasion occurred, most of the native people were killed, and Egypt became Arab. At no time where black people rulers along the Nile. My grandsons are a quarter black, and I want them to be proud of all their heritage. But, I want the history they learn to be accurate. There were plenty of countries, that really were ruled by black people, in Africa. Those are the histories young black children should be learning, not fake ones. What does it say about a people, when they keep appropriating other people's histories, like Egypt's and Israel's?

When my ex and I bought our first home, in North Hollywood, we joined Adat Ari El. It turns out, that was Winkler's shul. One day, he brought in his newborn daughter, a little red head, to be named. He was so happy to be a father, he glowed with joy and pride. He made a point of speaking to everyone there, even young nobodies like us, and thanking us for being present. Over the years, we ran into him in restaurants, and other places, and he always was so kind and gracious. He really is a mensch.

Such a revolting display, by those who hate the religion of the people. This whole thing could have been avoided, if the courts had made a sane, reasonable decision. Rather than just blocking mehizot, to separate the genders, as is the norm, they could have done what many synagogues in the US do. Have an area for mixed prayer as large as the gender separated space. If the courts had ruled there had to be three equally accessible areas, mixed, female and male, there would have been no reason to disrupt the prayer. Of course, the leftists, who treat religion with disdain, would have come up with another reason, they are so filled with hate. Has the left no shame at all? On the Shabbat of Shabbat, they had to act like spoiled children, angry they couldn't force the majority to give up thousands of years of tradition.

First, most of the Arabs are descended from those Arabs who came to the land during the British Mandate, or during the Jordanian invasion and occupation in 1948, so have lived there less than a hundred years. The first Arab invasion was in 637, but it was just conquest, with very few Arabs moving in. While Jews have lived in the land for about four thousand years, Arabs have not. Second, Israelis have tried to make peace with the Arabs, and don't even remove them from land they occupied by killing the original Jewish owner. In fact, the whole mess in Eastern Jerusalem is due to the fact the Jewish owners, who still hold deeds to land they bought during Ottoman times, were driven from their homes in Shimon Hatzadik. When the Jordanian army was driven out, the Jews did not drive out the Jordanians squatting in Jewish homes. And after decades in court, the owners finally got the right to recover their property, so the illegal squatters rioted. Some Arabs are part society, there is no impediment to them going to college, voting or being in the Knesset. But, about a quarter want the state of Israel destroyed.

When Lapid made a deal, to give away Israeli maritime territory, without approval of the Knesset or national referendum, as the law requires, and the court chose to side with the law breaker, they demonstrated their contempt for the rule of law. When they court decided, based upon their own personal, partisan interests, that Deri could not serve as a minister, even though the law clearly stated he could, they demonstrated their contempt for the law and democracy. Now, they threaten to rule the entire, democratically elected government, illegal, and ignore any legislation they pass. They will not negotiate or compromise, but dictate to the people's representatives. They are bullies, who care nothing for the people, the law, or democracy. Throw the bums out. Replace them with democratically elected judges, with clearly defined powers, that may not be exceeded.

Every single case of so-called "settler" violence, has been in response to killings committed by the Arab occupiers. In the latest case, a shepherd was tending his flocks, on Israeli land, and the arab colonizers attacked, trying to steal his sheep. Knowing he'd not be helped if the called the "proper" authorities, he called his friends. One of those friends was struck by an arab attacker, so badly his skull was fractured, so he shot the violent arab trying to kill him. When he came out of surgery, he was arrested for defending himself. Another man picked up the gun, and returned it, and was arrested for that act. Only after these arrests caused anger in the country, were a few of the actual arab attackers arrested. If you let yourself be murdered, nobody cares. If you defend yourself from the aggressors, you get arrested.

You can't "Judaize the West Bank". The real names of the areas are Yudah and Shomron (Judea and Samaria), and they have been Jewish areas for thousands of years. The only reason there are so many Arabs living in Jewish homes, is the Jordanian army ethnically cleansed the areas of the indigenous people, and brought in Arabs to fill their homes. Restoring the rights of the native people, to live in more of their homeland, is a good thing. Since the Supreme Court has consistently worked against the interests of the native people, in favor of the invaders, being able to override their overreach is also a good thing. Even better would be change the law, so judges cannot appoint cronies, but rather they are chosen by the people or their elected representatives. As to gay rights, only Moaz is against those, and he is only one man. The other coalition partners want equal rights for all. This channel keeps trying to rile people up, with false conjecture. Reporting these lies, to the rest of the world, is shameful. It only feed antisemitism. The people wanted a government that represents their interests, that's why the left lost so many seats. Get over it, and stop with the hateful lies. NB Stop bringing on Oppenheimer. He is an incurable liar, who is so filled with hate, it is brimming out of his mouth. He brings nothing to the table but rudeness and lies. Ditch him.

This channel's obvious bias against normal religious observance, is almost as obscene as the attacks on those, weakened by a day without food or water, at Neilot services. I say shame on you, but clearly this channel has no shame, and is willing to dismiss the most heinous behavior, on the left. What has kept the Jewish people together, despite serial conquests by invaders set on destroying us, and years in the oppressive diaspora, was our religion. Without Judaism, Tel Aviv would never have been built. And who was it, who forced Mitzrachi and poorer religious Jews, to live in the periphery? The very leftists who claim to be the masters of Tel Aviv and the country, when they aren't.

This woman says rapists are often given lighter sentences, because the were good IDF soldiers. But, as 80% of sex crimes are perpetrated by Arabs, often on Arab women, that makes no sense. Jewish girls are also commonly attacked (raped) by Arabs, because the Arabs were raised on the idea Jews aren't fully human. It is just another form of terror. But, most of the victims, just like most of the perpetrators, are Arabs. Rape is far more common in Arab communities, with 17% of Arab girls, and 30% of Arab boys, saying they were raped before the age of 18. While it is good idea to pay attention to all the sex crimes, it is wrong to not mention who is committing the attacks.

True, in the US judges and judge are either appointed by elected members of the government, or elected directly by the people. Plus, the situation is even worse, than just judges appointing their replacements, from among their friends and family, so others can never get a chance. In the US, a law can only be overturned by someone hurt by the law, suing until the case rises up through all appellate levels. And then, the law can only be overturned if it is unconstitutional, not because the court "feels" it is "unreasonable". The courts also prevent the government having elected ministers they want, if the court "feels" it is "unreasonable" for them to be in government, no matter what the law says.

Israel should take advantage of the upcoming bans on some AI development. Just like in the 1990s, when those of us in computer research in the US, were banned from developing good encryption, and Israel took the lead, Israel can take advantage of any bans or limitations the US puts on AI. Some if the leading researchers, in the US, in AI, are Jewish, like Ron Cole, who built the first neural nets that understood human speech, independent of user, and might be induced to make aliyah.

In 1989, in Sheffield, England, crushing crowds killed 97 people, and injured 766. At no time did anyone think to blame Thatcher, the PM. In 2008, when the local regional council tried to limit the size of the event, the Haredim just ignored them. The high court blocked other attempts to control crowd size, after the Knesset voted in favor of a resolution, to do so. The former mayor of Meron, tried for two decades, to limit crowd size, and prevent illegal buildings, such as an ad hoc hostel, from blocking the narrow alleyways. Each attempt was answered with anger and defiance, from the Haredim. Due to Covid-19, in 2020, the government attempted to limit the crowd to 3,000, the Haredim ignored all requests to observe sensible public health measures. The local police and fire departments sent letters to the Haredi councils, responsible for organizing this event, telling them it was unsafe to have such large crowds, without adding three more emergency exits. All governmental attempts, both regional and national, were either ignored, rebuffed or blocked in court. The only governmental agency, nominally responsible, was the Ministry of Religious Services, which on Lag B'Omer 2020 was headed by Yitzhak Vaknin, of the Shas party. He resigned a few days after the disaster. If any member of government, is to blame, it is Vaknin, not Netanyahu. But, the real culprits are the high court, who blocked all safety measures, and the Haredim, for pig headedly ignoring all pleas to observe safety measures.

Dr. Kedar truly understands the problems Israel faces, and has a firm grasp on reality. As usual he is concise and correct, except about how many seats Smotrich brings. In that, Bellos is spot on. If not for Netanyahu asking Ben Gvir to form a temporary bloc with Tziunot Datit, Smotrich would not have crossed the threshold. He only has 7 seats to bargain with because of Ben Gvir's patriotic generosity. Smotrich needs to tamp down his ego, and do what is good for the state, as Ben Gvir has. Bellos is correct, that Israelis don't want to have to live in a strictly halachic fashion. It is already disturbing enough that the Kotel area has been divided. But, Likud still holds the most seats, and Netanyahu would not allow that. Even most Haredi don't want that. Look at what happened in Beit Shemesh, where some of the more extreme males decided to segregate the sidewalks, one side for men, the other for women. A new mayor, a Haredi woman, was elected, who put an end to that nonsense.
Why do they continue to have this Oppenheimer idiot on? He has never utter a true statement in his life. He persists in believing whatever nonsense he was indoctrinated with, and ignoring reality. "Representation of the wrong" is a good label for him. His constant interruptions are infuriating. What is the value of the opinion of an idiot, whose stupidity most of the country has rejected? It is clear, that giving up land for peace only brings terror, and that the poorly conceived Oslo Accord is dead. Israelis need to be able to live safely, in their homeland, and build homes. There are plenty of Arab states, where Jews either may not live or are oppressed, Israel needs to be a Jewish state, all of it, including all of Aza, Yudah and Shomron.

Yes, we learned all about Christian love during the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Holocaust, and pogroms too numerous to count. Just as Muslims had djimmi laws, Christians forbid Jews from building synagogues, from working in certain trades, from owning land, and made us wear humiliating clothing. A historical look at how Christians and Muslims treated us, doesn't show much difference at all. Both were evil. At least Christians have changed in some countries. At least some Christians have changed, a little.

Nice report, but why nothing about the outrage of releasing a rapist, because the judge didn't find the stranger rape violent? Not all terrorism is done with guns and knives, and this rape is an example of that. What follows is a translation from the Channel 14 website:
After releasing a rapist with the determination that the rape was not violent a sharp complaint against Judge Kabob
"The man is not fit to serve as a judge, not even in peace and certainly not in the upper echelon," wrote today the CEO of Betsalmo Shai Glick in response to Judge Khaled Kabov's ruling according to which a young Arab man from Jerusalem who raped a young Jewish woman - will be released to his home.
This morning (Wednesday) on the release of Muhammad Tawil, a 23-year-old resident of Jerusalem for probation, after brutally raping a young woman in the horse park in the center of the city. This, after the district court sent him to detention until the end of the proceedings, and despite the opposition of the prosecutor's office to the request. Judge Khaled Kabov from the Supreme Court reasoned his decision: "Apparently, the appellant carried out his actions without using significant physical violence."
The unusual and controversial ruling caused a wide public uproar, and as a result the CEO of the 'Bezalmo' organization, Shay Glick, submitted a strong complaint to the Commissioner of Judges against him. In my opinion, this is one of the most ridiculous things that have ever been read in a courtroom in a democratic country."
The CEO of the organization also added and wrote: "This is a very serious rape case of an Arab raping a Jewish woman. All the courts determined that there was serious rape here. Honorable Judge Khaled Kabob didn't think otherwise either. And despite this, he writes in his decision the shocking sentence and I quote 'the fact that appears that the appellant committed his actions without the use of significant physical violence.'
Furthermore, Glick wondered in his letter: "I am shocked at what the Honorable Judge Kebob says. The rape was easy. How can a person say such a thing? The rape of a woman is like murder. But in the judge's eyes it is minor. Not violent. What does the victim think now? What Do you think women who go through rape and sexual harassment? Can such a person discuss these cases?".

Well, Smotrich was a decent Transport minister, and does have an international law degree, so maybe he'd be good at Finance. He shouldn't be Defense, since, unlike most Israelis, did not serve a full term in the IDF. Considering his conviction for tax fraud, Deri would be a poor choice for Finance. You don't give someone, who didn't pay their taxes, control of the nation's tax revenues. I was hoping Smotrich would get Judiciary. The Justice system needs serious reform, and sweeping out of ideologues. However, a 61 vote override clause will limit the high court's tyranny a little. But really, considering how few seats Smotrich brought, and the fact he only crossed the threshold by forming a technical party with Ben Gvir, Smotrich is demanding a lot more than he deserves.

I'm sure the majority of people, and the elected government, agree with him. The problem is Mat Kal, the army brass, is only leftist elites, who always take the wrong approach, as they are blinded by their own misconceptions. Something must be done, so that Israelis from all sectors can advance to the top, in the army, government bureaucracies, and semi-governmental organizations. As it is now, if you don't have the "correct", ie. leftist, ideology, you will never be promoted to the top.

Good, it's about time. It's a shame that gay couples had to travel, to my state of Oregon, to get a surrogate. I've met several lovely young couples, and their parents, who came here when it was time for their surrogate to give birth. It would have been so much nicer if they could have done so, with all of their families around them. Now, change the marriage laws, so that gay couples can wed at home, not have to travel abroad. And to all those christians, who've commented about how terrible this is, on this video: this does not affect you, just mind your own business.

Be'er Sheva a magnificent town? OMG it's horrible! Not only is it hot as hell, but with all the Bedouin in the area, driving is even scarier than the rest of Israel. And there is so much construction, it's nearly impossible to get anywhere. I had to drive my guy to Soroka Hospital, a bunch of times last month, and unless you left Kiryat Gat before 5 am, so you arrived before 6, you could forget about finding a place to park. We looked around at apartments, and while they were cheaper, there was a lot of crime. You want kids to stay in Israel, then Be'er Sheva is the last place you want to introduce them to.

Considering how illegal Arab homes, on stolen Jewish land in Shimon Hatzadik, are connected to water and power, but Jewish homes on Jewish land are razed, this is the worst government ever. Considering how poorly a pandemic is being dealt with, in comparison to the previous government, this is the worst government ever. Considering how terrorists are allowed to steal into Israel, and murder innocent civilians, this is the worst government. Maybe it's good for the invaders, stealing land from the indigenous people, and killing as many as they can, but it is not good for the country or the people of the land. Promises of good for the people, like an egalitarian prayer space by the Kotel, are not kept. Promises to govern as a right wing PM are not kept. All this government is good at is enriching themselves.

Probably not. They've bled him dry with one false accusation after another. His friends and family are not allowed to help him pay for the lawyers needed, to defend against constant legal harassment. They couldn't really defeat him at the ballot box, even with one fabricated scandal after another, but they'll pauperize him to force him to retire. What's sad is, many politicians, on the left, have committed actual crimes, like fraud or rape, but they'll never face trial for their misdeeds. The justice system is nepotistic, biased and corrupt. It is a sad leftover from the communists who formed the first government. Until it is cleaned up, nobody will trust the courts or the police.

@humanworld7774 There already are three states, carved out of Israel. First 70% was carved off and used to form Jordan. Of course, that was used to launch an army of invasion, and occupation, in 1948. Then Gaza was carved off, a supposed trade of land for peace. And it is used as a another launching pad, for near constant missile attacks. You'd have to be a fool, to think chopping off some of the land, previously occupied by the Jordanian army, to form another Arab state, will do anything good.

I lived a dozen years in Los Angeles, a city with more people the all of Israel, and very congested traffic. Drivers were more professional, because there were many police cars, on the road, and offenders arrested. Angelenos are not much more polite than Israelis, but they knew they'd get pulled over, for the sort of aggressive lane changes, and flouting of road laws, that Israelis commit with abandon and seeming impunity. The only police cars, that I see on Israeli roads, are border control. Israel needs more police cars, patrolling roads and neighborhoods, to prevent these incidents.

Israel does care about the plight of any Jews, who are suffering, regardless of color. If you ever went to Israel, you'd see lots of former Ethiopian Jews. If that were not so, this video would not exist. But, a lot of African gentiles, with no connection to Judaism, falsely claim to be Jewish. So, just as they do with Jews making aliyah from every country, they need to establish that those who claim to be Jewish, really are.

Please stop referring to Judea and Samaria, by the name of the Jordanian occupiers. It is more correct to refer to Jordan, as the East Bank. Use the correct names for the area, יודה ושומרון. And stop calling those occupiers, from Jordan, Palestinian. They only affected that name in 1962. Just call them Jordanian or Arab. Also, there is no reason that Jews should not be able to build in Area C, the same way Arabs build in Area A. It is historically Jewish land, that was only invaded, and ethnically cleansed, by the Jordanian army, in 1948. That invasion, and expulsion of native people, was the real Nakba.

A real justice system shows no fear or favor. Justice must be blind, to be just. Why were Deri and Netanyahu indicted on bogus charges? In a fair justice system, those fabricated charges would never be allowed. In a fair justice system, Gantz's defrauding of the Israeli police would have been investigated, and he would have been indicted. A system that will not indict those, whose political beliefs align with theirs, and indict the other side based upon corruptly brought charges, is not just. And the point about the jury is a good one. Jury duty is a pain, but it does ensure the people get a say in justice. Jury nullification is a good way to demonstrate a law, or how it is being applied, is unfair. Instead, in Israel, the people are at the mercy of self-appointing authoritarians, who make, rather than just apply, the law. (BTW Why does Kalev interrupt those who espouse truth and fairness, and let authoritarians talk freely?)

"A group of infuriated individuals"? Come on, they were exactly like so many violent Arab mobs, that perpetrated massacres in the past. They were a bloody thirsty mob, out to murder any Jews they could lay their hands on. This wasn't anger, because they had been oppressed, but anger that they could no longer oppress the native people. If this were any other group, attacking another for racial reasons, it would be called what it was, a violent hate crime. I'm glad one Arab protected him from the violent mob, but that does not excuse what the violent mob did. They should all be tried, not just a few. Of course, when reporting on the many, many such violent attacks, this channel has to show the single solitary beating, that was because people were actually infuriated. Infuriated because the police did not to protect citizens, but instead took the guns from those who had protected others from murder. Infuriated because violence, perpetrated by Arabs, is seldom punished. Your average Israeli is angry, because the ones constantly attacking them are always protected, but taxpayers are not.

Breyers is good, and inexpensive. Tillamook costs a bit more, unless on sale, and is even better. Look at the list of ingredients, unlike most ice creams, Tillamook only contains milk, cream, sugar, and natural flavorings like huckleberries, strawberries or boysenberries, never corn syrup or chemicals.

@dovidell The fact that Netanyahu is dealing with illegal prosecution, based upon false evidence obtained through blackmail, using compromising information obtained through illegal surveillance, and the prosecution is trying to change dates their "witnesses" claim events occurred, when it was obvious the testimony was completely false, and that the investigations were brought illegally, just to torpedo the most popular PM, is proof of the justice system's corruption, not Netanyahu's. This is what happens when courts are not required to answer to the people, and judges appoint their cronies, with similar politics. The justice system is used as a cudgel against their political opposition, and is unjust. Notice how the left, after illegally bringing charges, is trying to change the law, to prevent Netanyahu being PM. What ever happened to the presumption of innocence? And why are the obvious crimes of the left never charged. Gantz should be in prison for defrauding the Israeli police, and illegally working for Qatar. It's funny how when the Netanyahu's bought some garden furniture, used to entertain international visitors, the left screamed their heads of. But, when Bennet spends fifty million taxpayer shekels, to renovate his home, which isn't even in the capitol, crickets.

Extremely cool. I had friends decades ago, working on this problem, but there are a few caveats: 1. Many diabetics don't lack for insulin, but their cells have become insulin resistant. How do you make those cells receptive to this signal again? 2. As you are using embryonic stem cells, you may have a problem with acceptance. The group of people, who mistakenly think abortion is wrong, greatly intersects with the group, who have type 2 diabetes, due to obesity. They will not accept this cure. 3. If you are essentially grafting new pancreatic beta cells, into patients, how do you deal with HVG (host vs graft)?

Still no mention of how the rich creep, who owns Big shopping centers, tried to close them all down today, to force people to not work or shop, had to back down? This was especially heinous, because it mostly affects those in the periphery, who are for court reform. The store owners, who lease retail space, threatened to sue, and suddenly, all the bluster vanished.

If you want to be a vegetarian, fine. If you want to only buy eggs from free range chickens, do so. If you want to be a vegan, go ahead. (Just be aware that most vegans lack some essential nutrients, and often suffer health problems.) But, if all people stop consuming animal products, there will be no point in raising those animal, and they will probably go extinct. And if you start harassing those, who think differently from you, you belong in jail. You don't have the right to force your views on others, and those laws are just. I eat very little meat, but these two make me want to eat much more.

Even Bat Yam is too expensive. That is why most people live in the periphery. The government needs to open more land for development, instead of forcing more and more people to live on top of each other. And give building permits, to those who already own a plot. I know someone, who bought a half dunam lot 20 years ago, in Holon, and still is not allowed to build. It's not agricultural land, and all the surrounding plots have been built on. Why don't they have a permit? Ah, they are second generation from Morocco, and don't have the "right" connections. There needs to be a lot less graft, much tighter construction standards, and more parity in building approval.

When eastern Jerusalem was liberated from the Jordanian army, and the city reunited, all Jews were allowed to pray together, at the Kotel. But that soon ended, when the mechitza was erected. So a solution was found, to pray around the corner, by the Robinson arch. There women could be fully Jewish, and pray with tallit, and all their children, daughters and sons alike. That should have satisfied those who just cannot control their urges, so dare not see or hear women at prayer. But yeshiva bocherim acted like thugs, harassing and attacking people, just trying to pray, and desecrating Sidurim. Instead of trying to make everyone even more uncomfortable, by imposing rules like in Iran, at the Kotel, why not just leave those praying in the egalitarian space alone?

What about the moral obligations to limit one's own population? Of course, in those countries where women are treated only as brood mares, and the population has quadrupled or quintupled in the last half century, resources are overburdened. The onus should lie with those countries, to limit their family sizes, either through draconian law, like China had, or through uplifting the status of females, like India has done. Despite those responsible for the poor status of females, falsely pointing their fingers at westerners, the only thing the western world has done, to exacerbate the problem, is provide modern medicine. As the main reason girls are married off too early, so start having children far too young, is religion, the fault lies with Islam and the Catholic church. In Latin America, the fault is Europe's, for introducing a misogynistic religion, but in Africa, the fault is Arabia's, for forcing Islam on those lands they invaded. Let Arabia take in the refugees, as their religion is to blame, not Europe.

From the start, Dershowitz shows he has lost it. A judicial system, that is not unbiased, but instead only services one ideological perspective, is an embarrassment, not a gem. Since judges pick their cronies, to serve as other judges, rather than being elected by the people, or appointed by elected representatives, they are free to impose their views, their will on everyone. In the US, the supreme court must at least base their rulings, no matter how bad, on the Constitution. Also, cases must filter up through lower courts. But, in Israel, the high court rules on whim, based upon how they feel, and are unconstrained by law. Also, they make decisions that haven't been "vetted" by lower courts. They take powers that they were never granted, and act like dictators, overturning laws, passed by legislature, capriciously, like a despot. I knew Dershowitz had lost his mind, when he started defending Trump, no matter how many laws and norms he broke. Now he just confirms that, opining on something he doesn't understand.

There should be as many Jewish homes in Area A as arab homes in Area C. , and as many arab homes in area C, as Jewish ones in Area A, none. Unless the arab occupiers tear down every home they've built in Area A, Jewish home building in Area C should be unrestrained. Any deal with a Jewish village building freeze is untenable. In fact, since the PA is just the inheritor of the illegal occupation, by the Jordanian army, all the arabs living under PA control, and in formerly occupied parts of Yudah and Shomron, should be removed to Jordan. For every Jew killed by terrorists, a moshav for a few hundred people, should be build in Yudah or Shomoron.

If they practice christianity, they are not Jews. But, they are allowed in if they are at least 1/4 Jewish. But, I'm in the process of making aliyah, and proving you're Jewish is quite a pain. My ketubah and get are not considered proof of Judaism, even though I'd not have been allowed to marry in a Conservative synagogue without first proving my Jewishness. It might be a major pain, but they should just go through the conversion process, even if, at heart, they are already Jewish. That is what a lot of Ethiopian, Ghanain, and Ugandan Jews did.

It is truly vile that Israel must prove the inhumanity and brutality of the attacks, made against innocent Israelis, women, elderly, infants of the indigenous people. And yet when the evil arab occupation forces, Hamas, told the lie, that an Israeli strike killed 500 arab occupiers, the world ran with it, no proof needed. They didn't care the arabs killed their own, or that only a dozen fighting age men died. This double standard is the face of antisemitism, plain and ugly.

Those protesting about judicial reform, to make the country more democratic, should have been treated the same way righteous protestors, against the horrible Oslo accords, were treated. Throw them in jail for a month or two, without a trial, just for standing on a side street with a sign. The continued protests, by the entitled few, afraid of losing the unfair advantage they get, from a corrupt and biased court, should face equal justice. But, without court reform, parity and justice is impossible in Israel. Soldiers weren't given a choice about arresting those protesting against evil, why should they be given a choice when the protestors are evil people who hate democracy and justice?

An officer, even in hamiluim, that refuses to do their duty, should be court martialed. There were plenty of soldiers, who hated the terrible Oslo agreement, and the stupid withdrawal from Gush Katif, but they still did their duty. This just goes to show how entitled and privileged, those who came from soviet style kibbutzim and well connected families are. Someone should look into why these well connected people get such prestigious and valued positions, while the Mitzrachim have settle for being in tanks or protecting convoys. Why did so many in סיירת מטכ״ל come from Stalin loving kibbutzim, since that unit seems to be a springboard to advancement? I'm not demanding equity, but there ought to be equality of opportunity, instead of this corrupt proteksia.

In Poland one branch of government, the executive, has taken all the power to itself, and there is no balance. In Israel, the self-appointing courts have taken all the power for themselves, overrule laws passed by the legislature because the feel they are wrong, and issue dictates like a dictator, and there is no balance. Making laws, that hem in the unfettered power of unelected jurists, restores some balance, and makes Israel less like Poland.

So far this year, 67 journalists have been killed, 16 in Ukraine alone, mostly while covering a dangerous story. But, we hear nothing about those deaths. Why should the death of an arab journalist, who purposely chooses to walk into gunfire, matter to anyone? Are they more important than the Ukrainian journalist, killed by Russian fire, or a Mexican journalist, killed in a battle between drug cartels? If they wanted to have a long life, they should have chosen to stay out of gun battles.

There is nothing moral about illegally flooding other countries, with people looking to make more money, while being a burden of that country's tax payers, and lying about the need for asylum. Therefore, returning those illegals, to the continent they invaded from, is not immoral. If they really have grounds for asylum, they'll get it. Most are just after money. If human rights groups are complaining about this, they have forgotten that the people living in the countries being invaded, also have rights, and nobody has the right to illegally enter another country. Perhaps, they should focus their attention on the reasons people are leaving their homes, overpopulation and poverty in those areas, due to overly large families. They should concentrate their efforts only on improving the status of women, and making sure all girls get an education, and don't marry before the age of 22. Improving female education, and banning early marriage, is the best way to bring down poverty and overpopulation.

@goldengun9970 Jews are Semites, and Arabs are Semites, but Arabs are not Jews. Arabs originated in Arabia, and Jews in Judeah; those areas are close, but not the same. Many Jews settled in Arabia and North Africa, some as traders, many more as slaves, and most Mitzrachi Jews are descended from them, just as most European Jews are descended from those enslaved by the Romans, and brought to Europe. Since Europe and the Middle East was controlled by others, in the last couple of thousand years, many of us did have to flee from one place to another. I have a friend who can trace his family back over a thousand years, most of that time was in Yerushalayim, but they too sheltered in Iraq some generations. He considers himself Yerushalmi, even though he was raised in Tel Aviv.

It's interesting that the Arabs never claimed to be descended from Ishmael, or have any connection to Abraham at all, until Mohammed appropriated our religion. If you study mythologies, of various lands, there are usually verbal origin stories long before they are written down. Just like Hubbard and Smith, Mohammed seems to have invented things, without any historical basis, then claimed they were revealed to him. Surely, if there were any historical basis for the tale, some archeological record predating the 5th century, would have been found mentioning this origin story, by now.

The problem lies with the ultra-Orthodox's control of conversion and marriage. He should be able to convert to Judaism, without having to commit to living a Haredi life. It is obscene that most Jews, both in and out of Israel, are not Orthodox, but only the Haredim get to say how we marry, and how others convert into our group. Why should someone, as intolerant and dogmatic as this rabbi, get to say who is Jewish and who can marry whom? The state gives financial support to Orthodox synagogues, and but not Masorti, that should change. I've known a good number of Israelis, who when they came to the US, started attending services because they enjoyed them more here, mainly because the whole family could sit together. Why should only the misogynistic forms of Judaism get state support?

The ignorant protests are a lot more unpopular, than the much needed court reforms. Tel Aviv is not all of Israel, and those who live in the periphery are tired of the dictates, of those wealthy and connected enough, to live in Tel Aviv. Don't forget a lot of those, who live in the periphery, are descendants of Mitzrachi and Ethiopian Jews, who were discriminated against by all the communist leaning, Ashkenazi dominated, entitled governments, before the rise of Likud. Racism is a big driver for the protests, of the privileged, against court reforms, to make the country more democratic. #OnlyRacistsProtestAgainstCourtReform

This channel should be ashamed of itself. It never showed the constant protests against the last authoritarian government. And now that the people have elected a good government, that works for them, they only show the protests against it, never the parades of support for it. Of course, those suppressing the Jewish majority, because of their ideological insanity, resent their boot taken off the throat of the Jewish people. Of course they will riot and lie. Ben Gvir is correct, this continued imposition of bad ideas, to disrupt the country, should be tamped down. A riot is not a demonstration. The leftists are behaving like the January 6 insurrectionists, using violence because they lost at the polls. I find is absurd, that they left says returning to a more democratic system, and allowing elected representative to make laws, without interference from a self appointing cabal of judges, is anti-democratic. Good for this government, clawing back stolen power, from a authoritarian injustice system, that behaves like a Soviet court. Now, the method of selection of judges, must be taken out of the hands of judges, must be given to the people or their elected representatives, to have true democracy and justice.

And the opinion of a man, released after only serving a part of his 27 year sentence, for fraud, breach of trust, and tax evasion, is worth what? Sure Bennet had a tough time, since he kept not one of his campaign promises, starting with the promise to only join a right wing government. Yes, it is hard to form a government, when you refuse to join with the party with the most seats, because of your need to prevent the people the leader they want. Yes, it was a government formed for one reason only, to prevent Netanyahu continuing as PM, despite that being what the majority of people wanted. It certainly wasn't to end political craziness, as this was the craziest government since Olmert was thrown in jail.

The so called "palestinians" are really Jordanians. As soon as Israel was state, the Jordan army rushed into Judea and Samaria, driving Jews from their homes and orchards, killing those who did not escape in time. Then, Arabs from Jordan, were brought in , to fill those ethnically cleansed areas. In 1962, an Egyptian, came to those Arabs occupying Jewish land, and told them to call themselves "Palestinian" so people would forget they were invaders. There really is no difference between most Arabs, whatever they call themselves, they are from somewhere else.

You're blaming the wrong people. First blame the terrorists, who weren't content with living on the stolen land of Gaza, they wanted to kill all the native people. Second, blame Shebak, which was more concerned with surveilling those in the democratically elected government, to help the authoritarian jurists stay in power, than doing their job, protecting the nation. Also, some blame belongs to the late Sharon, who was the PM who thought giving Arab terrorists a base of operations, in Aza, was a good idea.

They were awarded the 2022 games in 2010, long before Covid-19 hit any economy. Their pockets were deep enough to bribe FIFA, with billions, despite the fact they should not have been considered. Normally, Mondial is held is late spring or early summer, but Qatar is too hot for that. Normally, beer is served at the stadium, something British and Australian fans demand, Qatar reneged at the last minute. Normally, the country that is awards the games, has made it to the games, at least once, on their own merits. This is the first Mondial they ever participated in, and only because they were hosts. The Qatari team's performance was pathetic, even with a $7.4 bribe to Ecuador, to play poorly, they still lost 3:0.

"The police will have a hard time regaining the public's trust"? What about the courts? They use this illegally collected material, and testimony derived from blackmail with illegal data. When the courts are used for political means, they are unjust. The investigation of Netanyahu was begun illegally, for political reasons, yet the courts won't declare a mistrial. Now, it turns out Shaul Elovitch was illegally spied upon, in order to force him to give false testimony through blackmail, yet the judge won't declare a mistrial. And, of course, the 'evidence' being presented is tenuous at best, but still the trial continues. This is the sort of trial that occurs in totalitarian states, where the courts are used, not for justice, but to achieve political goals and destroy the opposition. It is obvious that the courts are corrupt. That is what happens when judges appoint other judges, the people have no redress against an unjust justice system.

Smotrich is correct. Everyone knows that the arabs, who took that false name, occupy Jewish land, and live in stolen homes, fields and farms developed by Jews, after the Jordanian ethnic cleansing of Yudah and Shomron. These invaders and occupiers only started calling themselves palastinian, after the Egyptian, Arafat told them to do so, so that idiots would forget they were invaders from elsewhere. As to the arab settlement of huwara, Smotrich is correct about that too. If only that illicit den of thieves and murderers had been removed from the highway, after the last genocidal ambush, another good person would not have been murdered. Tear it down! Leave no stone standing.

So, you can point to one women, shot by their partner. But, others can point to many Israelis murdered by terrorists, who would have lived if they'd been armed. And, most of the recent terror attacks were ended, when an armed civilian shot the terrorist. Saying it should be the job of the police, to keep people safe, is denial of the fact they have not been doing so. If Israel were to attempt to remove the dangerous arab segment, living in the country, the international community would raise a major fuss. So, the only solution left is, arm any Jew who wants to be armed.

Underlying the whole argument is the Arab proposition, that Jews have no right to have a country in the land from which Jews originated. In their schools, they show maps, in which all of Israel is labeled as Palestine. Israelis marching, with the flag of the actual country, crashes head-on into this delusion, that Israel does not exist, and they still have the right to treat Jews as inferiors. Also, I've noticed, on these shows, the person making an invalid argument feels obliged to interrupt the sane person, and talk over them.

If stations, like this one, hadn't been spewing lies and disinformation, about the badly needed court reform, Smotrich would have been greeted with praise and admiration. But, no, you have to keep lying, saying an authoritarian, unjust, partisan, overreaching, self appointing, racist court must be allowed to continue its illegal iron grip on the country, despite what the majority want. You push for a system, where the democratically elected Knesset, has no power, only a non-democratic, cabal of cronies rule unopposed. Your lies hurt the country's reputation.

I grew up on the San Andreas fault. Regardless of wealth, nobody lived in brick buildings, except the really old adobe homes. (When adobe cracks in a quake, you can patch it with more mud.) Timber is very expensive in Israel. And stone is abundant. Also, because land is scarce, most people live in apartments, many of which are highrises, for the same reason you mostly saw highrises in the FSU, it's cheaper. Despite stick frame building surviving earthquakes better, you aren't going to see that type of building in Israel. While stick frame might do better in a quake, it isn't as safe from fires and missile strikes. Since Israel constantly faces missile strikes, and seldom has an earthquake, which would you build for?

How would any of the countries, butting into Israeli internal affairs, and trying to prevent a move back towards democracy and justice, with needed court reform, feel if the Israeli court system were imposed on them? Imagine if nobody in the US government, or any of the voters, had any say in who was on our courts, and who our AG or prosecutors were. Imagine instead, every single justice, judge and prosecutor were chosen by a committee composed of those the current supreme court appointed. Imagine any judge could overturn any law, not based upon being unconstitutional, but just because they were ideologically opposed to it. Imagine there were no jury trials, so jury nullification didn't exist. Imagine that only friends and family, of current judges and prosecutors, could ever be appointed to any position, and no people of color were ever chosen. Now imagine, when POCs start electing other POC, the courts decide to harass them with illegally brought prosecution, based upon torture, illicit extortion, and illegal surveillance, while calling those same POC baboons, to keep the government lily white. Imagine these same tyrannical, committees of white cronies also were the only ones allowed to appoint legal advisors to government, and those advisors could stop any governmental action. Say Biden or Buttigieg want to make rail lines safer, with new regulations, and the legal advisor says no, so they can't. Congress passes a law, making abortion legal up to the 21st week, and the courts overturn it, then proclaim all abortion is illegal. A straight cop tries to clean up a crooked, racist police department, so is prosecuted for rape, on perjured testimony, and imprisoned. And since only those with the same ideological viewpoint, of the current supreme court, can ever be in the justice system, no change can ever be made. Because that is what Israelis contend with now, and that is why court reform is needed now. Other countries, that actually have justice, have no place insisting Israel remain under the thumb of a racist, bigoted, communist leaning injustice system.

So begins the seventh week of lies, and deceit, coming from this channel, and all the other haters of democracy. A soviet style court has taken control of the country, preventing it from ever doing what is good for the people. Now those who benefit from the unfair advantage, that tyrannical court system, and their unjust and biased rulings, will continue to rabble rouse and agitate, to perpetuate injustice. The best thing would be toss every single judge out of their unfairly gained position, and replace them with those chosen by the people's representatives, or the people themselves, through election. But, this small reform, where judges can no longer illegally and irrationally overrule laws, passed by the people chosen legislature, is a good first step towards democracy.

Arabs already have a homeland, Arabia. In 1948, when people referred to Palestinians, they meant the Jews, who had lived in the land for thousands of years. The Arabs, who came from outside Israel, were given over 70% of Jewish land, to form Jordan. Three times as many Jews were forced from their homes in Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Tunis, etc. as Arab who fled from Israel. If Israel can take in, and settle, three times as many people, in a thousand times less land, the Arabs can do the same.

The US used to have maternity hospitals, also called laying in hospitals, which were separate from regular hospitals. Women would give birth, and stay for about a week, so they could recover. This wasn't something for just the well to do, but middle class mothers. I was born in such a hospital, but when I gave birth, in the 1980s, I had to be out of the hospital within 24 hours, and that included labor time. I wish we went back to having maternity hospitals, so women could at least stop bleeding before they go home.

Do Israelis need to go before a panel, to have a tooth extracted? That is a much more dangerous procedure, with many more risks, than a first trimester abortion. Why not just provide pharmaceutical abortions and first trimester D&Cs, without a panel? When an abortion is needed because the woman's life is in danger, having to wait for panel approval could kill her. Panel approval should be dispensed with in those cases. And, when the fetus is not developing properly, and will be incompatible with life, or severely deformed, requiring panel approval will only cause further anguish. If a physician thinks an abortion is needed, why require a panel at all? That is extremely disrespectful to his/her professional opinion.

Other than the Senate, and the way that affects the Electoral Count, there is nothing wrong with the US system. And the US judicial system is a model for the world. The US has one of the best, or maybe just the best, judicial system in the world, which shows no fear or favor. Federal judges are appointed by the people's choice for president, and approved by their elected representatives, and state judges are usually elected. Thus, in the US, the people have some say in who is judging them. In Israel, judges appoint other judges, and the whole system had devolved into cronyism. Self appointing officials, who make rulings based upon who is being tried, whom the people cannot remove, and who do not feel bound by the laws passed by duly elected representatives (the Knesset), is like a dictatorship. It is the opposite of democratic, but rather authoritarian. It is the last Israeli legacy of its original Soviet nature, and must be seriously reformed.

So, you are looking for Netanyahu to be punished for crimes he never committed. I'm waiting for Gantz to be punished for defrauding the Israeli police, Bennet to be punished for ripping of the taxpayers to improve his personal home, and Lapid to be punished for ignoring the law, by making illegal deals that hurt the country. But, most of all, I'm waiting for repercussions for the prosecutors and judges, who use the 'justice' system, to illegally control everything, by bogus prosecutions of the good, and ignoring the evil deeds of the bad, just making up 'laws' out of thin air, and ignoring real ones.

@user1qaz2wsx3edc The Brits handicapped Israel, by first preventing the indigenous people returning home, while importing Arabs from surrounding countries, without limit. And then, every time the Arabs attacked the native people, the Brits forced the natives out of their homes, like in Shimon Hatzadik. And then, when they left, they armed the Arab colonizers, leaving the native people defenseless, except for what they could by from Czechoslovakia.

This is what happens when justice is not blind. Those who are of the same political alignment, with the self appointing judges, never are investigated or charged. And those of an opposing view, are convicted with fabricated evidence, of crime they never committed, just to keep them out of government. It doesn't matter if sentence is suspended, when it is proven the charges were bogus, the falsely prosecuted still can't have a portfolio. Israel needs to reform its justice system. Judges should not be able to appoint their cronies, to the bench. Appointments must come from outside the legal system, to avoid this disgusting cronyism, a remnant of Israel's pro-soviet past.

Many countries have coalition governments, and with so many parties, it would be rare for one party to have 61 seats. However, rather than continue with a proportional representation government, Israel would be better of electing regional representatives. Not only might this reduce the number of parties in the Knesset, but it would force Knesset members to be more responsive to the needs of the people. When you vote for a party, MKs are only responsive to the wishes of their party, but if MKs have constituents, they will have to attend their needs. Israel did experiment with direct election of PM, but since Netanyahu won overwhelmingly, the left changed the rules back.

If any should be replaced, it is Mat Kal, including Ramat Kal Halevi, who failed in their duties, when they didn't notify Netanyahu, Gallant or the heads of the listening outposts, of the Hamas incursion, when they first started receiving reports. The left caused this pogrom to occur, with their constant riots, and threats not to serve the country. Now, they are trying to use the chaos they caused, as a way of removing the democratically elected government. Shame on them.

What hypocrisy! Turkey is continuing its genocide, against the Kurdish people, in their own homeland. But, daring to hang a puppet, in another country, is unacceptable. There are too many tyrants, oppressing those people in their own land. Turkey, Iran and Syria, have all oppressed them, as they try to wipe out Kurdish culture, killing them, punishing them for even giving their children Kurdish names. #FreeKurdistan

It is the self appointing judges, who ignore the actual law, which allows Deri to serve, who need to be removed. The way they ignore the written laws, ignore the crimes of those on the left, and act as if their opinion is law, is unjust and undemocratic. The courts must be cleared of all of those appointed by cronies, and replaced with impartial jurists, selected by the people's elected representatives. The courts must begin to apply only laws passed by the legislators, apply them equally to all, and not substitute their feelings of "reasonable" for the actual law.

This ignores the reason many wetlands were dried out, mosquitoes which carry disease. Malaria used to be a serious problem in the United States and Israel, but with mosquito rebatement projects, that drained swampy areas, there were fewer mosquitoes. This mostly eliminated the diseases of malaria, chickungunya, dengue, several encephalitis diseases, west nile virus and zika virus. But then environmental activists, in the US, insisted that wetlands be restored, and catch basins installed in most urban areas. It should have been no surprise, that the diseases have now become a problem in the US again. Restoring wetlands, as this environmentalist suggests, in Israel, will have severe unintended consequences, in the form of mosquito born disease.

If you aren't accelerating, the minute the light turns green, people honk. (You get a warning of a double light, and some people start to move then.) You get cut off, even if you maintain a space of less than a foot, between you and the car in front. And, it's worse in the South. Bedouin often drive, without a license, like they are the only ones on the road. I saw a car, beside me, get rear-ended at a red stop light. It's crazy. If I were a young man, with testosterone making me stupid, I might have flipped out too. The drivers are so unprofessional.

Friedman is a vile liar, who hurts the Jewish nation, because the dared to vote differently than he wants. Democracy in Israel was killed, because the leftists oligarch of the court were upset that the nation of Israel was democratically electing people from the right. Just like the white southerners, who tried to prevent black people voting, they decided to nullify the vote of the darker skinned Mitzrachim and more religious Jews, by transferring all the power, that legitimately belongs to the democratically elected government, to themselves. They knew, as they only allow fellow travelers on the bench, that the courts would remain dedicated to the Bolshevik cause, and work against democracy and equality. Any time the people voted in a government to give them a little more equality, democracy, and economic and physical security, the courts blocked it. All the lies Friedman laid at Netanyahu's feet, really belong to the judicial dictators.

Look at the result of lying to the people. The courts have stolen power, they were never intended to have. Israel is no longer a democracy, but an autocracy, ruled by self appointing courts, that have taken all power for themselves. If the democratically elected Knesset passes a law, that the people demand, but the courts don't "feel" is good, it is overturned. No other constitutionless country allows courts to overturn laws. The judicial reforms must be passed, to democracy. The people's representatives must choose future judges, to restore checks and balances. As it is now, the courts hold all power, and there is no point in voting.

I have a hard time taking a guy, with that absurd topknot, seriously. Pissing people off, by blocking traffic, is counterproductive and stupid. If they want to convince people, they are using the wrong approach. Claiming they are following science is an utter falsehood, blocking roads has never changed anything, except turning people against the cause being extolled. When a nuclear power plant was being built about seven miles from my home, when I was young, a bunch of idiots tried to block construction by blocking the roads. Before the protests, support among the community was pretty evenly mixed. After the obnoxious protests, the community swung to strongly supporting construction. These idiots will make more Israelis support a pipeline, davka.

The fact Herzl Halevi cannot control these mutinous pilots, demonstrates his inability to perform his job well. Normally, a interim government may not replace Ramatkal. And the fact Gantz did so, as part of the interim government, when Kochavi's term wasn't due to end until now, made the move even more illegitimate. Replace Halevi, with a Ramatkal of the current legitimate government's choosing, not a Gantz puppet, afraid to punish mutineers. Even members of the IDF, who knew forced withdrawal from Gush Katif was a truly horrible, and detrimental move, did that job, and reluctantly removed those people from homes their Jewish ancestors had lived in forever. If soldiers of the IDF were willing to follow orders then, despite their highly suspect nature, they shouldn't shirk from duty from a fear of a more democratic, just system.

Teaching an inverted version of history, with the indigenous people accused of occupying their own land, because of Arab oil nation funding, has been going on for at least 45 years. In 1978, I needed to take a history class at UCLA, and tried a middle east history class. I bought the text, and discovered it was full of lies, such as claiming Jews originated in Europe, and Arabs lived in Judea before Jews did. I took it to the ombudsman's office, and was told they could do nothing about it, as Saudi Arabia funded the middle eastern history department, and had total control. Today it is Qatar, funding and perverting, history course. This must end.

Ben Gvir is correct, Israel must completely win, and keep the people safe. Gantz may talk a good game, but only hurts the country. As a former agent of Qatar, and someone willing to defraud the police, he is not to be trusted. As to Netanyahu being weakened, dream on, he's stronger than ever, despite the attempts of the Kaplan brigade, posing as hostage families, to bring him down.

A bunch of militants used the mosque as an arsenal, filling it with weapons. After innocent Jews, praying at the Kotel, were attacked, the police had to come in and remove the weapons. The police were also attacked, and some hurt badly, so they used rubber bullets, to dispel the violent mob. There is media bias, only showing the Israeli response to unprovoked attacks, never the cause, but not here.

So, first this leftist channel warned us about the dangers of Itamar Ben Gvir. But, it's clear that the people really wanted him, because he plans to, finally, not put Jews last and protect them from terrorists. Then, it was the horrors of one homophobic member of government. Yet, they completely forgot about Ra'am, who are far more homophobic and misogynistic, whom they loved. And, now, we get treated to the lies and false prognostication of Yesh Atid. We saw what their beloved Lapid did, completely ignore the laws, and act like an all powerful autocrat, by making an illegal deal, giving up maritime rights without approval of Knesset or the people. All this, while working only three hours a day. Baruch Hashem, that ignorant, lazy creep, who would be a street cleaner, if not for his daddy, is gone. Israel has seen a dangerous government, and knows any government that includes Yesh Atid is dangerous.

Wow, the left keeps trying to pretend this new government is bad, when the truth is, they know it is really good. And that is what worries them. Once a strong, able government, that is dedicated to the good and safety, of the Jewish people, takes power, the people will never vote for the left again. Where were all the attempts, to spread fear, when a government, that included members of the muslim brotherhood, was formed? Now that was scary! And we saw the result of a government, that would not act strongly enough against terror, in increased terrorism. BTW, has Bennet yet paid back, the ₪15 million used to make illegal renovations to his home? Has he removed the illegal additions, as the laws of his city require?

Calling out a few racist black guys, who make disgusting comments, that sound like they are coming from a Nazi, is not blaming all black people, for the unfounded hatred, that Jews face. But, if you look at the people attacking innocent older ladies and gentleman, merely because they are orthodox Jews, in NYC, usually you see a black person. The racist, who murdered people in a Pittsburgh synagogue, was white. But, the racists who shot up a Kosher supermarket, in Jersey City, killing four, were black. And, if you look at the BLM riots, a lot of Jewish owned stores were targeted for vandalism, especially in Los Angeles and Chicago, while a neighboring gentile owned store went untouched. I'm tired of the statement, "I can't be racist, I'm black," because clearly it's not true. And, wrapping a false and racist sentiment, in a joke, doesn't make it any less evil.

Why do Arabs, and not the people who built the city, the Jews, live in Hebron? Because, despite their promise to make all of Israel the Jewish state again, the Brits brought in Arabs and kept out, or removed, Jews from the towns they'd built. The the Brits cleaved off 70% of Israel, to create Jordan, and filled it with Arabs from other countries, putting a Saudi prince in charge. When the Arabs attacked the natives in Hebron, Jerusalem, and other cities, in a pogrom in 1929, rather than remove the newcomer Arabs, who committed that war crime, the Brits removed the Jews. In 1948, the Jordanian army invaded, committed the war crime of ethnic cleansing, and occupied much of Judea and Samaria. Sadly, when the IDF drove off the Jordanian army of occupation, they didn't drive out the Arabs who had stolen the Jewish homes and fields. Those Arab occupiers started calling themselves "Palestinian" even though they can't pronounce it, to fool people. Time to finish the job began in 1967, and drive out all the invaders.

Court reform is both wise and badly needed, if Israel is going to remain a democracy. Why should an unelected cabal of jurists, be allowed to impose their outdated beliefs on others? They should not make laws, or override laws coming from the democratically elected Knesset, that is not their function. If they cannot work within the proper legal framework, they should be removed, and less authoritarian, more fair minded jurists chosen by the people, or their elected representatives. As it is now, there is no justice in Israel, and the people are tired of that.

All we need do in the US is institute the same laws they have in Canada. In order to purchase a weapon, you need to be trained and get a license. Weapons fall into two classes, single shot rifles and shot guns require a PAL license, handguns and semi-automatics require a RPAL. Just as in US driver's licenses, the more dangerous the weapon, the more difficult it is to obtain the license. But, if someone is deemed a danger because they have assaulted someone, they lose their license, just like drunk drivers do. All weapons are registered in a searchable database. If you sell a gun, you need to check that the buyer has the correct license, and notify the government of the sale. In that way, sane, law-abiding citizens, that are not a threat, can still "bear arms".

I find it really weird, that the Arabs, no matter what false name they took in the 1960s, are clearly the invaders, yet call their drive to annihilate the native people, a resistance. Perhaps Putin should take a cue from this ongoing Arab invasion, and occupation, of another people's land, and start calling his invasion, and genocide, in Ukraine, a resistance movement too. The Israeli majority knew that Oslo was a mistake, and the withdrawal from Gush Katif a major blunder. Time to rectify those errors.

I watched the series, and couldn't stop thinking, I know why this person can't find a mate. The worst was the guy in LA, who insisted on a super beautiful, natural blonde, with blue eyes, from a Mitzrachi background. Seriously, if he'd been super attractive and successful, he might have been able to be so picky. But, as he had no real career, but worked for his mother and lived at home, he was no catch. I kept thinking, douchebag, go to Rikudei Am, especially Sagi Azran's session, and you'll find plenty of girls. No blue eyed Moroccans, but get real.

Israel used to be more Jewish, where Shabbat was protected, and food was kosher. As it becomes less Jewish, and more cosmopolitan, many older Israelis miss the old feel of the country, the quiet of Shabbat, living one's life by the Jewish calendar. That is what people want back. Israel will never have a morality police beating Jews and non-Jews alike, if hair or elbows aren't covered. Premarital sex, or extramarital affairs, will not be punished legally. Homosexuals will not be thrown to their deaths. Women who cheat will not be stoned. Birth control will be available, and if you need an abortion, you'll get one. Israel is not in danger of becoming a theocracy, where Jewish religious law is forced on everyone. It will not become like Iran or Indonesia, and to suggest it could, is absurd. In short, Fleisher is correct, Shulman is wrong, as usual. And who cares what someone from Hadash thinks? There are plenty of Muslim countries, he could live in, if he doesn't like the Jewishness of Israel.

You, and all the others lying about what the needed court reform will do, caused the economic problem. Investors hate uncertainty, and will all the rabble rousing and falsehoods, told by the privileged few, to scare people about making democracy stronger, has spooked investors. The current legal system is so biased, autocratic, and mercurial that there is no justice now. Stop spreading hatred and lies, and accept the fact the people want blind justice, not a group of unelected cronies, imposing their ideology on all, and making the people's lives miserable.

Herzog's plan was not compromise. It completely gutted what the people want. The people don't want the courts to be able to overturn anything, ever, because there is no constitution by which to measure laws. The people want judges to be chosen by themselves or their representatives, not by a soviet style committee of fellow travelers, elites choosing more ideologically identical elites. Frankly, most people want the entire injustice system cleared out, and every justice, judge, prosecutor and policeman replaced with ones that will protect the people. They also want those in government to be able to choose their own legal advisors, not be hamstrung by ones coming out of the same soviet committee. Pass the reform now. Stop talking to those entitled elites, that only want to continue ruling the country like hereditary lords. Give the people the reform they voted for, without delay.

My fiance is sephard mamash, and he still gets angry when he discusses this, and curses Ben Gurion. (His family is very Likud, his father even spent years in the finance ministry, and came up with the plan that got runaway inflation under control.) According to him, this was all a plot to keep power in the hands of Ashkenazi Communists. They couldn't stand for Sephardim to have power, even though all the old, honored families were Sephardi. A lot of people don't understand the resentment of Sephardim, who were kept out of positions of power by the machers on the left, and how the Likud liberated them. (I have another friend, who made aliyah from Morocco as a small boy, and still resents that his well educated father had to work under an uneducated Ashkenazi, with no chance of advancement.) American liberals don't understand that in Israel, the oppressed classes have moved to the right, while the ones who think they are lords, are on the left.

From the headline, I thought it would be a discussion of foreign coverage, or rather lack of it. When a terrorist shoots at Israeli police, or stabs police, and is neutralized, that gets reported. Of course their headline isn't an honest "Terrorist Neutralized" but an extremely misleading "Palestinian Killed". Why are the war crimes of the Russian invasion of Ukraine decried, but the centuries of war crimes, by invading Arabs, ignored or applauded? Why is it missiles fired against Ukrainian apartments a terrible thing, but the same sort of attack on Israeli civilian targets ignored. Both Ukraine and Israel are trying to repel murderous invaders, who have no concern for human life, who are occupying part of that land, and falsely regard the land they are invading as their own. Arafat was correct, when he told the Jordanians illegally occupying Judea and Samaria, in 1962, start calling yourselves Palestinian, and people will forget you aren't from here.

Netanyahu isn't cornered. He finally has enough seats, held by sympathetic right wingers, to form a government, that won't be corrupted from within, by those who want him to fail. The left is just upset, that they won't have the power to make things worse anymore. Netanyahu finally will be able to reform the corrupt, nepotistic, biased judiciary, that has acted like an self-appointed dictator, and ruled by fiat, while ignoring the actual laws. The only reason outsiders are concerned about Ben Gvir, is all the slander, being spread by those on the left. The only thing they are really afraid of, is there will finally be a government that works for the Jewish people, instead of lining the pockets of themselves and their friends. They fear the loss of protecksia, and dread a fair government. Stop spreading doom and gloom, and pretending this isn't the wonderful result, that the people wanted. And, stop your racist attitudes, and calling non-ashkenazim baboonim.
1
-
If all the elites stopped protesting against returning some of the power the judiciary has stolen, back to the democratically elected Knesset, and stopped with their insane lies, Moody's would not have downgraded Israel's status. It is absurd that a committee of current and former judges get to pick new judges and justices, and the people get absolutely no say in the matter. And what is even more obscene is, that the government's legal advisors, who are appointed by the same elites, don't just advise, but issue dictates to the government. I realize the elites don't think the majority is worthy of any voice in the country, because they are Mitzrachim or Datim, but that is what democracy is about. Instead Israel is ruled by hereditary oligarchs, where all judicial appointments and plum military posts, are only given to those from connected Ashkenazim descendants of Halutzim.

Israel needs to be more democratic. The only way to do that is take back the power, the unelected, self-appointing courts, have stolen from the legislature. They must stop making laws, and overriding just laws, and merely adjudicate within the framework of laws, passed by the people's representatives. Also, they need to be appointed by the Knesset, or elected by the people, because they only prosecute the right, accepting illegal evidence, while ignoring the numerous crimes of the left. Balance must be restored, for there to be any justice. This last Soviet remnant must be cleared out.

I see, unlike the half million, who marched in Jerusalem, there are so few of these anti-democracy "protestors", the only way they are noticed, is if they purposely block traffic. You know if those in favor of a return to democracy, for the needed reforms, ever did anything like this, they'd be arrested, Those who protested against Oslo, or withdrawal were arrested, and tossed in prison, without a trial, until the vile deed was completed. The fact the left can freely do, what the right gets arrested for is further proof of the injustice in Israel, the partisan nature of the courts and police. This is further proof of the need for reform.

@dovidell Since the police and current border guard are in cahoots, with the corrupt oligarchs of the courts, having a national guard, that protects the people, not just the interests of entitled elites, is an excellent idea. Nobody trusts the police or national guard, who ignore arab violence while beating up Haredim for nothing. Since Ben Gvir actually represents the interests of all the people, even those the entitled elite call baboonim, for daring to want equality, any force he controls will be better than what those in the periphery suffer under now. And nobody wants your hamesh agorot. That coin has as much value as the word of Lapid or Gantz, bubkes.

Once the horrible problem, of an authoritarian court and unelected "advisors" acting like utter tyrants, then the government can turn to coming up with a proportionate way of dealing with those accused, yet not convicted, of violence against their partners. But, unless you just get rid of the assumption of innocence, this bill is wrong. The way this bill was written, it treats those merely accused, as guilty. Women have civil rights, but so do men. Protect women, but also protect the rights of the accused.

It's not the government's policies that put a strain on Israel-US relations, it is the fact the US State Dept. is so moronic, it believes the lies coming out of news groups, like this one. It is beyond credulity, that taking back stolen power, from an unelected, self appointing, autocratic, nepotistic group of lawyers, who think they can make the laws, and rule with complete contempt of the democratically elected government, will have anything but positive effects. Or sure, when Lapid was interim PM, he was willing to illegally fulfill US wishes, by breaking the law, to the determent of the country. But, stopping that sort of stupidity is a good thing. I thought the US was all about helping democracy, throughout the world. These reforms will make Israel more democratic and just. An intelligent State Dept. would be encouraging them.
1
-
This entire segment was merely prevaricating projection, by the ideological losers, of the election. Making the tyrannical, nepotistic courts, finally answer to the people, is pro-democracy. Anyone who thinks giving the people more say, and self appointing judges less unbridled power, is antidemocratic, is insane. And allowing the Jewish people, to finally be allowed to protect themselves, from violent attacks, is not controversial, it is correct and just. Also, all the claims of the religious, imposing on more secular Israelis is mere conjecture. Religious parties have been in government before, and all the religious rules were exactly the same, as under this last oppressive, left leaning government. The newscaster is dead wrong, and always is. Why someone, who is incapable of recognizing reality, and has a super annoying voice, is still employed as a newscaster, boggles the mind. Who pulled strings to get him his job? He is really bad at it. Replace him with someone, who is not so far left, that he hates the Jewish people.

How disgusting it is, to see so many fools, who hate democracy, and want to be ruled by a nepotistic, corrupt, biased, autocratic court. Why aren't these jerks being arrested? When people merely carried signs, against the horrible Oslo agreement, they were arrested, and tossed in jail, without a trial, for months. These protestors are so much worse, they need to be arrested and jailed.

That's not true. I know too many Jews, who are completely ignorant about all the terrorism, and about the autocratic excesses of the partisan judiciary. If you only watched this station, and read the news for English speakers, you would have to be clueless about what is really going on. Only if you have Israeli friends, would you know about the Arab judge, who released an Arab, who brutally raped an innocent young Jewish woman, because he said it wasn't violent enough. Only if you know people living in the periphery, would you know about how terribly they are treated, with inferior schools. Only if you had Israeli friends, would you know the well connected Ashkenazim, who've always been privileged, call Mitzrachim and religious Jews baboons.
1
-
Interesting that you translate עָצמָה as power, not strength. Always go for the most negative connotation, eh? And, considering the near constant bombardment Ashkelon faces, it's no surprise people there want Ben Gvir. And, if you think Ben Gvir's votes will come just from Likud, not those on the right, deceived by Yamina, who'll never let Sa'ar, Bennet, Shaked or Lieber*mas* get their vote again, think again.
1
-
You're exactly backwards. Dr. Kedar is a well known islamic scholar, who understands the arabs, and their drive to subjugate everyone, much better than you do. That Yariv putz is a clueless moron, who insists the world is the way he wants it to be, and completely ignores reality. He's been on before, and everything he ever says is the exact opposite of what is true. And protecting the Jewish people, from terrorists is not escalation. The Bennet/Lapid government has been too weak, and let the Arabs have their way on everything, to the detriment of the population. Since you clearly are as backwards, and inability to perceive reality, your comments are worthless.

Really wonderful how people, who've never done anything of note, object to how a rich guy spends his money. Bezos does pay taxes, and did not take tax dollars for this launch. And he gave hundreds of millions to food banks last year. He gave over a billion to fund research on repairing climate change. What has this Dan moron ever done for anyone? Amazon often pays the highest wage, for uneducated workers, in a region. If they ceased to exist, it would cause more hardships. What jobs has this long haired jerk ever created? The rich often spend their money frivolously, on fancy clothes, fancy cars, expensive travel and expensive real estate. At least Bezos is spending his money on something that actually adds to human knowledge. Next time, don't ask the opinion of jealous jerks, just talk about the facts.

So, are they going to pretend the British didn't drive out the Jews, living on the east side of the Jordan, and cleave off 70% of Israel, to form Jordan? Are they going to pretend, the arabs that invaded Yudah and Shomron, behind the genocidal Jordanian army, didn't have to be coerced into taking on a false name, they can't even pronounce, by the Egyptian Arafat, in the 1960s? Everything Smotrich said was correct, even if some are trying to rewrite history. Shame on Saudi Arabia, for promoting a racist lie, over the truth.

Where is Mar Yemini's proof that most Israelis condemned , those living on moshavim, taking matters into their own hands, and rightfully punishing Huwara, and the evil colonizers living there? I have a lot of Israeli friends, and most of them wish the IDF had assisted the freedom fighters, and had burned that damned arab settlement, on Jewish land, to the ground. These evil creeps celebrate every terror attack, passing out sweets. Let them experience what they've always perpetrated. Obviously Huwara is a threat to safe passage, as it harbors terrorists. It should not exist. Get rid of it. There should be as many arabs, living in Area C, as Jews are allowed to live in, that stolen Jewish land, of Area A.

There were arab terrorists doing the same, in Israel, well before that racist struck. Don't feel bad, the pos who murdered 11 people, in a Pittsburgh synagogue wasn't charged with hate crimes either. Funny, how if the victims are black, gay, Hispanic or sex workers, a hate crime gets charged. But, if the victims are Jewish or white, despite social media accounts filled with hate, hate crimes are never charged.

I'm glad the judge didn't allow the prosecution to change their story, when the facts demonstrated their whole narrative was completely fabricated. But really, since the entire investigation was illegally began, and any evidence is the result of blackmail, using compromat obtained through illegal surveillance, why has this case not been thrown out? The whole idea, that Bezaq was given an unfair advantage, in order that Walla would give Netanyahu favorable press, is belied by the fact Walla has never printed a story about Netanyahu that wasn't negative. The left's using of the department of justice, to take out a politician they cannot beat at the polls, is incredibly corrupt. The justice system needs reformation, from top to bottom. Judges should not be able to appoint cronies, they should be elected by the people, or appointed by the government. Copying Israel's justice system, from the Soviet Union, was a mistake. Make the courts and the police answerable to the people. Institute trail by jury, since the judges are to biased to be fair.

All this escalation of violence came from a feud between Hamas and Fatach, over which terrorist regime will rule over all. A poll of Arabs, living under PA rule, showed Abbas would lose an election, so he called it off. There has never been an election in PA territory, so Fatach stays in power. But, Hamas wants to take over. To distract from his totalitarian ways, Abbas encouraged violence for Ramadan, and his people obliged. Innocent Jews were attacked, especially in Jerusalem, and three Jewish students were gunned down, outside their school, by an Arab, in Yudea. Riots began to erupt all over, especially in mixed cities. So, to prove they are the bigger assassins, Hamas really upped its rocket attacks into Israel. Usually they hit the areas around Ashdod, Ashkelon and Sderot with a few rockets a day, and set fire to some fields and forests, but leave the internal parts of Israel alone. And with a thousand rockets a night, hitting innocent civilians, Israel could no longer look the other way, and finally responded.

It's not racist, but it certainly is holier-than-thou, and counter-productive. The Orthodox were willing to accept Conservative conversions, because they are halachicly correct, but not Reform conversions, which were looser. Only Orthodox synagogues get government support, but many enlightened people have a problem with Orthodoxy's misogyny. Since most Israelis identify as Jews, but also as secular, there is clearly a problem with this all-or-nothing approach. Cracking down on who is a Jew, and allowing only the Orthodox to define who is Jewish, and what is Judaism, not only turns Israelis away from all religion, but diaspora Jews don't see Israel as a place they'd live. Such action doesn't discriminate against other religions, but it does set Jews against each other.

A constitution sounds like a good idea, and should have been created at the country's refounding. But, I guarantee you, any constitution, legally passed by the Knesset, will be overturned by the courts, because they just don't like it. Nothing good can be done, until the powers, illegally taken by the courts, are taken back. The entire "justice" system, from police, to prosecutors, to judges and justices, has to be scrubbed out, and all the nepotism, cronyism, and corruption cleaned up. Until Israel has truly blind justice, showing no fear or favor, instead of the highly partisan nest of vipers it currently suffers under, there is no point of discussing the passage of a constitution, because the criminals of the court, will just ignore the parts that create balance between the government, and the self appointing bureaucracies, of the prosecutors' offices and the courts. And let's not forget that Basic Laws, are as close to a constitution, so allowing courts to overturn them, is like allowing courts to overturn the constitution. The very fact they have done this, in the past, demonstrates they'd have no respect for any constitution passed.

Why do they bring on this Yariv idiot? He represents exactly what the Israeli people have totally rejected. Anything he promotes, is the opposite of what the government should do. The attorney is correct, people are tired of being attacked, with near impunity, by the Arabs, not being defended by the police, and being charged, if they defend their own lives. They are sick of the government letting those Arabs steal any land they desire, while Israelis cannot afford a place to live. They are tired of a court, that appoints themselves, does not answer to the people, overrules any law they wish, and seem determined to oppress the native people, the Jews, and deny that Israel is a Jewish state. As far as Ben Gvir being far right nationalist, he is not. He merely is tired of Jews being second class citizens in their own land, and the constant murder attempts, by the occupiers.

The problem is, as SandraD says, the media. In Israel, all the media, except Channel 14, has been lying to the people. If you look at the situation, from the outside, it is obvious the courts appoint their own members, and have chosen to take all the power, for themselves. They have even taken the right to appoint all the governmental legal "advisors", who may stop any governmental action. So, in essence, Israel is no longer a democracy, but an autocracy, ruled by the corrupt courts. They have pruned all other bureaucracies of any who disagrees with them, through kangaroo courts and phony trials. They have blackmailed the government, into initiating processes the people did not want, like Oslo and the withdrawal from Gush Katif. Anyone who has spoken against this tyranny, finds themselves in prison, on fabricated charges. And that includes most of the media. Group think has been imposed, in a fashion more draconian than in 1984. And now, that some of the stolen power might be returned to the people, the media lies to the people, and says becoming more just and democratic, is becoming less so.

While I applaud the idea of trying to reduce plastic waste, through taxation, the truth is this hits religious families the hardest. Because the logistics of having sufficient plates, cups and utensils, and making sure kashrut is observed, many religious people use disposable plasticware when having large dinner parties. When I first became friends with Haredim, I was appalled by the use of disposals at every meal, but began to understand. If you don't care if the fork you use to eat cheesecake, ever touched meat, it is much easier to have parities with real utensils, and wash them. By using plasticware, they assure their guests the food never touched the wrong food in the past. This plastic tax seems more a way to stick it to the religious, most of whom are poor, than save the environment. And, if the tax on beverages, was to reduce the consumption of sugar, why are sugar-free beverages also taxed? Religious people also consume a lot of soda, at their meals, this seems a way to stick it to those who cannot afford a Tami.

This is a straw dog, based upon a lie. First, there seldom even any rock throwing, from beleaguered Jews suffering constant attacks from Arabs. And, while the Arabs are never arrested, unless they kill someone, even a pebble gets a Jew incarcerated. Even a Jewish guy, who killed his Arab attacker, was jailed, even though it was self defense. There are constant acts of terrorism from the Arabs, against Jews. But, the last time it happened the other way, was over 25 years ago.

There is no excuse for this type of evil. Anyone excusing the vile monsters, who occupy parts of Israel, committing these heinous acts, is also evil! Deflecting the evil of the Arab occupiers, unto the IDF, or any of the native people is also evil. The idea the Jews are occupying their own homeland is absurd, as is the lie that the Arab occupiers are ever mistreated by Israel. After today, anyone who calls any part of Yudah, Shomron or Aza 'palestine', has shown themselves to be a monster. Anyone who refers to the Arab occupiers, of Jewish land, as a 'palestinian', is also evil, as this is always a prelude to excusing the evil of the Arab colonizers.

Funny how when the IDF push back chalutzim, upset their homes and yeshivot are being destroyed, the press praised the police or IDF. But, when a bunch of leftist agitators get violently out of hand, any IDF response is called beating. In this case, the rioters came to the IDF, and attacked them. You attack a soldier, don't expect roses in return. And for far too long, soldiers have died, because they were not allowed to use force, until too late. Stop making something out of nothing. Everything the rioters got, they had coming to them.
Also, the subtitles were purposely badly translated, to make what the soldier said seem worse. He did not call the asshat a MFer.
Further addendum: As usual, everything that putz, Oppenheimer said, is the opposite of the truth. Why do you bring this liar on every time? He has nothing to add of value.

Just as the US is biased against Jews, and cannot be trusted to make fair, unbigoted decisions, so are the entitled Ashkenazi elites biased against religious Jews, and those who spent the diaspora in Asia or Africa. Why do they think it is OK to deny service to Mitzrachim, or call them baboons, arsim or frechot? Why are they being denied the same economic opportunities, that the well connected elite take for granted. Even army postings now depend on who your family is, and none from the periphery get cushy spots, or those that lead to advancement. Of course the UN has a bias, but so do the unelected who really run this country.

A good start, but only a start. Despite all the hoopla, all this bill does is stop the undemocratic practice of courts preventing democratically elected members of Knesset serving as government ministers, just because the judges don't like them. All other uses of the "reasonableness clause", like blocking government actions or overturning democratically passed laws, also need to be legally prevented. And, the people, or at least the people's elected representatives, should be the only ones choosing new judges, not former judges. Also, the PM should be able to pick whomever they want, as AG. And government legal advisors should be selected by the sitting government, and should only advise, any not have any authority. The only power the courts should have is adjudication according to existing law. They should no longer be allowed to just make laws up, as they go along, or determine legal action illegal.

Gee, I wonder what the author's political leanings are, NOT. There have been plenty of novels, that envision a dystopian future. None of them proved correct. Remember 1984? That year was a very good one, not the horror the novel, of the same name, envisioned. Pretending, that finally giving Jews equal rights, to that of the minority of occupiers, will result in a theocratic monarchy is ignorant and backwards. You might as well envision a world, where cats rule, and humans are feral scavengers. It is as likely to happen.

The left is so driven to maintain corrupt power over the people, the corrupt, partisan courts will "create" a law, out of thin air, based upon nothing, to remove good leaders, on the right. That is why a law must be passed to prevent their continued corrupt obstruction of democracy. It's absurd that it is needed, but there must be a law passed, requiring the judiciary to only operate within actual laws, without making up their own, or 'adjusting' the laws that the Knesset passed. It was the courts illegal and partisan 'reinterpretation' of the rule of law, that prevented Deri from being in the government.

Gee, maybe if Ben Gvir were allowed to do his job, and get rid of police commissioners, who refuse to protect the people, or arrest certain criminal elements, the crime wave could be brought down. But, as usual, the courts, and the judicial "advisors" foist upon the government, by the same sort of politburo committee that chose only far left judges, have prevented the government from doing, what the people elected them to do. Ministers should choose their own advisors, and be free to ignore their advice or replace them. Judicial reform is needed now.

Weird how allowing a self-appointing group of lawyers, who all have far right politics akin to those of the Soviet Union, being able to overturn laws, on a whim, isn't seen as Soviet style autocracy. It's even weirder that this same politburo group tells the government who the can appoint as AG and political advisors, and these fellow travelers have the power to prevent any good government action. I don't know why Putin would ever be against Israel, as she is where Soviet ideals, not democracy, still rule unimpeded. And this oligarchy suppresses Jews, in favor of Arabs, and actually let an Arab rapist, of a young Jewish woman, go home without any prison sentence, based upon this sick ideology. Not only is judicial reform needed immediately, but all the corrupt judges and prosecutors must be replaced with those who rule judiciously, not based upon their own personal prejudices. There is no justice in Israel, currently, and it needs to be restored. Any who protest against reform, are protesting against the rights of their own people.

A "freeze" would be a terrible move. The people voted for judicial reform, because without it, Israel is not a democratic country. The people's voice must be respected, even if a few deluded protestors, paid by foreign governments, have convinced other fools that democracy is dangerous. What is especially galling is, when the majority of Israel was against Oslo and withdrawal, any peaceful protestors were jailed, without trial, for months, but these antidemocratic protests are allowed to disrupt daily life. This is just further proof of how corrupt the whole injustice system is. Changing how judges are appointed, so that those the people elect nominate and approve, rather than a partisan, undemocratic committee, is a good start. But, something must be done to clear out all the corrupt and partisan judges, prosecutors and police commissioners, who think their ideology is more important the Rule of Law. Civil service must become a meritocracy, rather than its current oligarchy, where people are promoted based upon ability and performance, rather than by the color of their skin, political party and who they know, as it is now. Ask any of the Mitzrachim or members of Likud if they found there was a glass ceiling, above which they could not advance, because of the color of their skin or their political affiliation, and they will have tales of suppression, by the communist leaning Askenazim, who think their right to rule cannot be questioned.

I've noticed in the terror attacks, that were stopped, they were stopped by a good guy with a gun. Unlike in the US, the concept actually works, probably because so many citizens have military training. You don't hear of Jews going into schools, restaurants and shops, and shooting innocents. But, you do hear of Islamic terrorists trying to kill masses of innocents, and being put down by an armed bystander. In Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Beer Sheva, and throughout Israel, it wasn't the cops that stopped the murdering terrorist, but a good guy with a gun. The more armed good guys, the better, since the police aren't protecting the people. And the criminals are already armed, either through smuggling or theft from army bases, so fears of criminals obtaining guns are weird. Maybe, Israel should do as other armies do, and shoot anyone who infiltrates a base. That would do a lot more to keep arms out of the hands of criminals, than preventing law abiding citizens from protecting themselves.

How disgusting are all these racists, who think the votes of Mitzrachim and observant Jews don't matter? Since the corrupt and biased courts, that have stolen power they don't deserve, always rule in their favor, against the majority, they want to keep these tyrants in power, so protest against democracy and justice. Lapid is so typical, of those who have great power, because they were born into the right family. If he hadn't come from privilege, a high school dropout, like him, would have ended up cleaning the streets, not holding power he never earned through merit. It's people like him, afraid of losing the unfair advantages they've always enjoyed, who can't stand the idea of Israel having true justice, that shows no fear or favor. They remind me of the January 6 insurrectionists, in the US, who only like democracy when they win, and riot when they are in the minority. Lapid is not just an idiot, who has power and privilege because of his family, he is a liar and a hypocrite. He called for judicial reform himself, but cannot stand the fact it will occur under Netanyahu. Lapid was such a lazy, dishonest and law breaking PM, he really should assist in the passage of the needed reform, but clearly loves power more than he does Israel. He'll burn the place down, before he lets the better man do good for the country.

Sure, there was a time, before A/C, when people used wet sheet to cool off. That doesn't dispute the absolute fact, as demonstrated by measurement, that the world has been getting hotter faster than any time when humans lived, starting with the Industrial Revolution. The Thames, in London, used to freeze over every winter, it stopped doing so, after people increased the amount of carbon they pumped into the atmosphere. The central Californian coastal city, that I grew up in, never got above 85F, in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Now it regularly goes over 110F, every summer. It never was this hot before !

The opposition should not be trusted. Every single member has called for even more stringent court reform, at some time. The delays, through illegal riots the right would have been imprisoned for, are meant to bring down the government, and demoralize the majority. A strong majority of citizens voted for this government for one primary reason, court reform. They want security and justice, both of which the corrupt, authoritarian, partisan courts, and their corrupt police minions, block. Delay is not needed, nor would it be correct. Once the chagim are over, reform must occur rapidly. The people are tired of waiting for justice and democracy.

Nah, only the first guy knew what he was talking about. We don't have a true general AI yet. Sure, you can use a huge training set, and with the hardware improvements, PLDs and such, anyone can produce a decent narrowly focused expert machine. But nobody really knows how the machines "perceive" the world (or at least the input from the world it gets) and they build bizarre illogical organization structures, so the output is disconnected from reality. The false reality they present as real, is called a hallucination. They over-generalize, and discern connections that don't exist. And because of that, they lie. And what the machines are expert in, is always a very narrow domain.

It is a turf war. Certain Orthodox factions in Israel say only they can determine who is, and not, a Jew; and which rabbis are legit. Since these families converted to Christianity, some say they are not Jewish, despite converting back. This is similar to the Crypto-Jews of New Mexico. Although, they converted back to Judaism, certain Orthodox rabbis say their conversion is not Kosher, despite following halacha, because the rabbi who performed the conversions is not of their sect. If rabbis, of these haridi sects, had been the ones that re-converted the Ethiopian families, their Jewishness would not be in question.

The people elected this government primarily to clean up this unjust, undemocratic judicial system. Who cares that a few dissenters, unhappy to lose power they never should have stolen, complain about need reforms. This is what democracy is about, the will of the people. Balance must be restored to the courts, as they show favor to the left, when they should show none. The people must have a say in who judges them, either by voting judges in, or having them appointed by their elected representatives. Allowing judges to appoint their cronies, only results in nepotistic cronyism, and a Soviet-like judiciary. And only the legislature should be allowed to make or overturn laws. The courts must work within the framework of properly legislated laws, and since their is no constitution by which to measure laws, should have no power to overturn anything.

Between 1973 and 2018, the number of humans, infesting the globe, went from 3,927,780,238 to 7,631,091,040. Between those years, human action made 60% of birds, reptiles and other mammalian species go extinct. Sperm counts have not dropped enough, especially in the third world.

That's true, judicial reform would just make the process of selecting judges and justice more in line with the rest of the world. But, the real problem is reform would change two other very undemocratic situations. Israel doesn't have a constitution. Most countries that don't have constitutions, don't allow courts to overturn laws, since their is no standard by which to measure them. Those few that allow overrule of laws, also have a simple mechanism for the legislature to override that overrule with a simple majority. Since the courts have been overturning laws, based upon their own personal prejudices, there has to be a simple override provision. Also, the courts have ruled that legal advisors can tell ministers what they may or may not do. That means unelected bureaucrats actually have more power than those elected to the government. Ministers should be the ones appointing their own legal advisors, and all they should be able to do is advise, not dictate.

So, to make money by selling a book, she is willing to impugn a dead man's character. Of course he can't deny her libel now. What insight or evidence could this gentile women have, after 78 years, that others, more familiar with our ways could not find. And how very convenient that she pins the deed on another Jew, to spare the Netherlanders further guilt, in their collaboration with the Nazis. She makes ridiculous claims, like the notary is a well respected position a Jewish community. What utter tripe! The rabbi and chazan, and gabbai are important. Scribes and scholars have always been held high esteem. But, not a notary?! This bogus claim proves she is clueless.

Millions voted for this government, primarily to enact the very reforms, these entitled fools are protesting against. Why they are so against taking back stolen power, from a corrupt, partisan, nepotistic, group of self-appointing, nepo babies is beyond me. Do they hate democracy? Is it the fact that the Sephardim are finally fighting back, against those born to positions they don't merit, that bothers them? Do they think it will be too hard to compete, if they don't have the court's bigotry working for them? Their hatred of democratic results, when they lose, is what is dividing the nation.

Soldiers that refuse to do their duty should be court martialed. That should be made clear. Halevi was illegally appointed, by the previous government, even though Kochavi's term was not up, and past interim governments were not allowed to make appointments. But, that is further proof of the lack of justice, under the current corrupt and autocratic courts. They ignore the law, when it doesn't suit them, and make up laws, out of thin air. Halevi has proven he is not trustworthy, by threatening a coup, and should be replaced.

Great, the press has been lying to the people, and thereby riling them up. You should be ashamed of yourselves, fighting against reforms needed to make the country more democratic. If there is anything wrong with the proposed reforms, it is that they don't go far enough. In order to be a truly democratic country, judges should not be allowed to appoint their cronies, but instead either be elected by the people, or appointed by elected representatives. The law should also be changed, to make obstreperous judges easier to be removed, by the elected government. And, since Israel has no constitution, they should not be able to overturn laws.

Stop with the lies. The "economic fallout" is due to the unrestrained riots, road blockages, illegal strikes, and general lawless behavior of the privileged minority, angry about the possibility of true democracy, equality and justice. If the police had done their jobs, and arrested those who blocked and burned the roads, and held members of the government hostage in their own homes, the economy would be fine. When they call their riots 'days of disruption' they prove their disdain for the well being of the country. The people voted for judicial reform, because they are tired of being ruled by unelected judicial despots. The privileged elites want the unjust, highly partisan system to continue. They don't want to have to compete with the Mitzrachim, who cannot advance past the glass ceiling holding them down. They regard the majority of the country as peasants, who should not be on equal footing with them. This is caste warfare, the same as the Altalena affair.

Gee, if news channels, like this one, would stop pumping our lies and disinformation, like restoring democracy is anti-democratic, maybe the protests would stop. It is disgusting, to hear a bunch of privileged people, who always benefitted from unfair advantages and connections, complain about moving back towards democracy, by saying returning stolen power back to the people's chosen representatives is antidemocratic. And the underlying racism, from Ashkenazim of privilege, living in Tel Aviv, against Mitzrachim and datiim living in the periphery, that undergirds these protests, makes this channels lies even more revolting.

The problem with the reform is not that it did too much, but too little. And if all the power, that the courts have illegitimately stolen, is not taken back at once, the corrupt, oligarchical courts will just claim the actions, of the democratically elected government, are unreasonable. How can balance be restored, when a tyrannical group refuses to let Israel be a democracy? When will all Israelis, including Mitzrachim, have the same opportunities that the well connected elite do? What is truly unreasonable, is thinking the unelected should rule the country.

Just like the partisan court, that these bigots are fighting to keep the dominant power, these racist rioters act as if they are above the law. How would they have felt, if the majority had decided to as lawlessly, as they do. Would they have cheered if Lapid's wife had been held captive, by rioters? Treat them like the Oslo protestors were, toss them all in jail, until the contrived "controversy" is over, and the powers, the autocratic courts have stolen, have been clawed back.

Funny how differently the protests, by a privileged minority against needed court reform, are treated so much better, than when the majority protested against the insidious Oslo accords and the dangerous withdrawal from Gush Katif. When the government obeyed the dictates of the left, betraying the majority, and seriously hurting the countries interests, protestors were thrown in prison, and held for several weeks, without charges. But, when the minority tries to stop changes, voted for by the majority of citizens, that would benefit the country, they are allowed to bring everything to a standstill. This is just further proof of the need to reform the courts, so that both sides are treated equally. Biased 'justice' is really injustice, and what Israel has now, is an injustice system. She needs an unbiased justice system, which only drastic judicial reform will bring.

What a lot of ado over nothing. Why people claim that the government, that actually has appointed a gay speaker of Knesset, is going to discriminate against gay people, shows how clueless and hateful those people are. The last government was terrible. It rolled over for unreasonable demands from the US and arabs. It raised taxes, while refusing to protect the people from terrorists. The people voted for a right wing government because they want to be safe, be able to buy an apartment, and put food on the table. The sour grapes and lies, coming from the losers, reminds me of the way Trump refused to accept his loss. As to the override rule, it is a good thing. The self appointing judges are far too biased and partisan, and act like tyrants, and often throw out good laws, and substitute their baseless opinions. The best solution would be throw all the jurists out, and have the Knesset appoint new, just ones. But, that is probably impossible, so a way to undo biased rulings must exist. As it stands now, there already are different rules of engagement, where Jews are punished for things arabs get away with. That should change. Dershowitz is correct about how incredibly unfair the world is. Israel has been bending over backwards, to try to satisfy the racists from the rest of the world. It is obscene how the world is rallying around Ukraine's efforts to throw out the colonizing invaders from Russia, but condemns Israel for resisting the colonizing, invading arabs. It would be absurd for them to continue trying to appease the racists of the UN.

Nah, the real threat to the government, and the country, comes from biased, and just false news stories, like this one. There is nothing wrong with Evyatar. In fact, it should be expanded. It is all the illegal arab building, on the Jewish homeland, that is causing problems. There is no reason a hotbed of terrorism, like Huwara or Jenin, is allowed to continue existing. Get rid of all the illegal arab settlements, in every part of Yudah and Shomron, and the native people will be able to live in peace.

Wait until the next Likud primaries. The coward, Gallant, will find himself on the bottom of the list. I wonder what those who hate democracy, and want to remain with unelected tyrants controlling the country, used to blackmail him into this traitorous action? Did they have some compromising material, from the illegal surveillance on all members of Likud? Or did they threaten to bring bogus charges, based upon fabricated evidence, and coerced false testimony, as they are doing to Netanyahu. Pity Gallant doesn't have the bravery, other members of the government have, to stand against the corrupt authoritarians of the court.

Look at all these people, afraid of allowing true democracy, where the majority have power, rather than a small group of self appointing judicial bureaucrats, illegally punishing any who dare have a different political outlook, and overlooking the crimes of their cronies. The Rule of Law must return to Israel, and that means taking back all the power, the lawless jurists and prosecutors, have stolen from the people. Law must be administered with no fear or favor, and if that means removing those too corrupt to do so, so be it. Without drastic judicial reform, there is no justice or democracy. And standing against justice and democracy, for all, is evil.

It used to be that religious garb was not allowed in Congress, but that was made moot, by an exemption for Omar. Everyone knew he was shomer shabbat, since he stated he could not work on shabbat, so he should have just worn his kippah. As to using impeachment for political reasons, that ship sailed when Clinton was impeached over a legal, albeit tacky, dalliance. Also, saying that a judgement should not be made, when life or liberty is at stake, is a distraction, as Trump faced the loss of neither.

@SapphireZeev36 Since there is no constitution, the courts should never have been allowed to check the people's elected government ever ! As the reform bill stands now, the high court can still overturn laws, and that is wrong. The people have no power to choose who is on the courts, so all the courts should be allowed to do, is work within the framework of the law. The only thing wrong with the reform bill, is it does not go far enough. Every single judge, justice and prosecutor, chosen by the soviet style committee, without input from the people, should be removed, and replaced with one who the people, or their elected representatives, have chosen. The dictatorial oligarchy must go!

@USAMAURICE42 Then whoever wrote those books is either an idiot or a liar, and blind as well. The ancient Egyptians left us paintings of their appearance, and they looked more like the Chinese, than Arabs or blacks. They had almond shaped eyes, straight dark hair, narrow straight noses, light skin and very little body hair. They were capable of drawing those from Kush, as dark skinned, wide nosed, with kinky hair, and other middle easterners as light skinned with curly hair and a lot of body hair and beards. But, that is not how they portrayed themselves. And, I too was educated in the US, and when I was taught history, nobody was falsely claiming the ancient Egyptians were black or Arab.

The problems of lies being taught in universities is not new. I tried to take a middle eastern history class, at UCLA, in 1977, and when I bought my textbook, I found it was filled with lies. Rather than the truth, that Jews are the indigenous people of both banks of the Jordan river, it stated Arabs founded Israel, and Jews all came from Europe. When I complained to the ombudsman, I was told it didn't matter the entire class was false propaganda, the Saudi government funded the entire department, and they could teach whatever they wanted. Students should be instead taught the truth, that Arab originated in Arabia, and every country they control, in the Levant and northern Africa, they colonized, and the indigenous people were wiped out or seriously oppressed.

Just more proof, that FIFA letting Qatar run this year's games, was obviously corrupt and wrong. And its not just gay football fans, who'll suffer, but women, in this oppressive country. "In February 2021, the Guardian reported 6,500 migrant workers from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka had died in Qatar since it won its World Cup bid." And, in 2016, a Amnesty International report showed Qatar uses forced labor (slaves). And let's not forget Qatar paid $220 billion in bribes, to get the game. A lot of football fans and officials have been angry since it was announced Qatar would hold the 2022 games, justifiably so. FIFA is a corrupt organization. Why should a game, created by the British, be controlled by the French?

The president is supposed to be a figure-head, merely a titular head of state. He isn't supposed to meddle in politics. But, this far-left, former Labour party leader, from an entitled background, illicitly sides with other far left and entitled dictators. The country is in turmoil because for three decades, the far-left, self appointing, autocratic courts have stolen more and more power, that they were never meant to have. They act like they are kings, and beyond reproach. And since they are extremely partisan, of course they always side with the left. So it doesn't matter who the people elect, or what laws the legitimate government passes, the illegitimate one, the injustice system, will just undo any good. The people want court reform, and they don't want to wait another year for it. If Herzog doesn't understand that, he should be replaced with a president, who knows his place, and doesn't act like an absolute monarch. Every single person, marching against democracy and justice, is doing so for racist reasons.

No, if he were responsible, he'd ignore all the attempts to delay and weaken reform. The people, the majority of the country, voted in a government to enact reform. It's long past time that the teeth of the authoritarian cabal, that calls itself justice, but really causes injustice, are pulled. The irresponsible ones, are the ones fighting against the democratically chosen court reform. The people want reform. The people demand reform. All the entitled racists, who hate darker skinned and more religious Jews, need to remember they aren't kings.

Maybe, if Britain hadn't forced so many Jews out of the homes they had built, in Jerusalem, Hebron, etc., to make way for the Arabs the Brits brought it, there would be less conflict. And certainly, it was unfair of the Brits, to carve off 70% of Israel, to give to Arabs they imported from Saudi Arabia, just to quell a battle, in that country's royal family.

Look, I get your anger, especially at the elites who left Israel vulnerable. But remember, this is an elitist channel, that was against restoring democracy and equality, through court reform. And Lider's last song was against the much needed court reform. He is on the side of the elites, probably because he's gay, and believes the lies about religious Jews. So, of course, none interviewed here will ever want the truth reveled, how the elites, of Mosad and Shebak, purposely disabled the sensors, then went to party in Eilat. And really, I doubt they thought the horror they enabled, would be as bad as it was.

As the Nazis were willing to exterminate anyone, who has a Jewish grandparent, why should Israel not welcome anyone with a Jewish grandparent. Also, most who convert, only do so after discovering they have Jewish roots, or to marry a Jew, and raise their children as Jewish. Why would you turn away someone, who want to raise their children as Jews, especially if they were partially Jewish, to begin with? (And you're wrong, if a German had converted to Judaism, they'd be sent to a death camp. Some gentiles experienced our fate, just for standing up for us.)

Wow, what exaggeration! Other left lean channels put the crowd at less than 60K, and even that seems a stretch. Such a shame so many people hate democracy, and want the tyranny of a self-appointing group of judicial autocrats, over the democratically elected government, to continue. Judicial reform has been needed for a while, and is the main reason this new government was elected. Most of the country hated the terrible actions, of the last government, and how the courts refused to stop their illegal actions, but abided until a better government could be elected. What is it with all these antidemocratic movements, when the losing side can't handle the fact they lost? The attempted insurrections in the US and Brazil, and now this demonstration of sour grapes, show a level of immaturity seldom found outside of gan (pre-school).

Lapid wants to completely give away any Israeli assets, before he is kicked out of office by a populace sick of his stupidity. Perhaps, in future there should be a bare scholastic minimum, for holding the office of PM, like the ability to graduate from high school. As an interim PM, Lapid is not supposed to make treaties. Also, in order for the government to give up any land, including maritime holdings, there is supposed to be a public referendum. What Lapid proposes is illegal. Why don't the courts stop him. Oh yes, because they are extremely biased. They stopped Netanyahu making appointments, when he was interim PM, but didn't stop Lapid from appointing Kohavi's replacement. It is long past time that the courts were made answerable to the people. Since the concessions, Lapid plans on making, are not legally within the power of an interim PM, to grant, Netanyahu would be completely within his rights to dismiss them, once he is back in office. The biased talking heads, on this video, seem to forget that.

I grew up next to Cal Poly SLO, in California, long before that book came out. The story was a common one. An American girl met a muslim guy, while he was attending college, and he seemed so nice and normal. They got married, lived a normal American life, had kids, and all seemed fine. Then something took him back to his roots, either a visit home, or relatives visiting the US, or he started attending a mosque regularly. And either all were kidnapped, or just the kids, and the State Department was no help. Fast forward decades later, and my teenaged daughter's friend started dating a rich Arab guy. My daughter had heard the stories, from my mom, and she and their friend Fatima, who is Kuwaiti, convinced the friend not to marry him. We heard he'd then married a different young lady, and the kidnapping story was repeated.

Then those who live in Australia are as deceived and misguided, as you are. The fascists are the monsters in the courts, not the people trying to weaken their unjust, authoritarian grip, on the nation. And, if the country is hurt, because of the baseless lies, traitors to their people, like you, tell, only liars, like you, should be ashamed.

I'm sorry, but when has the ADL ever attacked Democrats? Rubin starts out with a lie, and thus makes himself moot. Waldman is correct. Making common cause, as the ADL has done, with the very people encouraging the murder of Jews is obscene. I understand that ignoring the fact most antisemitic attacks come from the left, and other minorities, gives the ADL a connection to the current administration. But, is selling your people out, in the manner, worth it? Greenblatt should come to my city, where in the name of BLM, synagogues were burned down.

This is news? When people head inside, as the weather gets colder and wetter, respiratory disease case numbers always go up. Europe and North America are seeing an uptick in influenza, Covid-19 and RSV. Children and the elderly are especially hard hit, and US and Canadians pediatric hospital beds are full. Don't be surprised if this hits Israel as well. As far as Covid goes, the predominant variant, BA.5, is very immune evasive, and the MAb treatments, like Evusheld, no longer work. You'd be wise to get the bivalent booster, when you get your influenza vaccine. It is available in Israel.

When the "terrorist attack" was announced, and a tiny woman was claimed to be the perpetrator, I was fairly certain it was a false flag, meant to serve as an excuse, for more genocidal assaults, on the Kurds. Now I am completely certain. In the past, the world has condemned the genocide he waged against the Kurds. But now, Erdogan has his excuse. He did the same thing in the past, staging a false coup, to give a reason to incarcerate or kill his political oppositions, or critical journalists.

It's not a lack of education, it's the way women are treated. When I got my first programming job, at a bank in 1981, men were constantly asking me to make copies or type something up for them. I'd have to remind them that was not in my job description constantly. And these were morons who couldn't code their way out of a paper bag. When I was in CS grad school, in the 1990s, the other grad students were always shocked when I brought my small children into the computer lab. I was the only women in all my classes, and still as soon as we started a project, my organization skill always put me in the leadership role. Yet, the grad students, who hadn't worked with me, always assumed I was there for diversity. A lot of women don't like dealing with the overriding misogynism in the tech world.

Funny how when Lapid was in power, he just ignored any laws. But, now that he's out, he's such a proponent of law. Israel does not have a real justice system, because justice requires laws to be applied equally, without fear or favor. The current non-justice system will never address the crimes of the left or the arabs, but invents crimes to convict Jews and the right with. Not only should judges not be able to appoint their cronies, the high court should not be able to rule on any case that has not filtered up through lower courts. And, they should only be able to rule on whether something is legal, according the current laws, not invent laws or throw laws out.

The talks, with the leftist elites, are just to delay the needed reforms. Anyone who doesn't press firmly forward with reform, will find themselves low on the Likud list in the next primaries, Netanyahu included. As to the polls, since they are conducted by biased groups, and are always shown to be false, at the polls, nobody need pay them heed. Start conducting your polls in the periphery, not just among the wealthy of Tel Aviv, and you'll get real results, with the vast majority demanding reform. And nobody should trust someone who comes from a party, that doesn't have primaries. Their ministers are all corrupt, and bought and paid for.

Abbas is a tyrant, who does not want to lose control. He realized, if elections were held, he'd lose. So, he cancelled elections, then blamed Israel because they would not let him set up polling places within Israel. He then agitated the mob to attack innocent Israelis in the street, on buses, and at prayer. Hamas was pissed, because they wanted control. So, to prove that they were more powerful than Fatach, rather than burning fields and forests, and launching their usual two or three rockets a day into Israel, they upped it to a thousand a day. Of course, Israel had to respond to this provocation. But, often the news only shows the Israeli response, and not all the Arab provocation.

Proselytizing should be illegal, and any who engage in it should be deported. It is so disgusting, after the Xtians, and then Muslims, invaded the Jewish capitol, killing the native people, and building their religious buildings on Jewish land, while preventing Jews from worship on Har Habayit. And then, after Jews finally got their land back, these invaders try to convert Jews away from the truth, to their perversions of Judaism. There have been evil people, who pose as real Jews, and invite Yeshiva students to their homes for dinner, only to try to steal their souls, and convince these good students to become dross, Xtains.

If Israel had the same sort of justice system Germany has, there would be no need for reform. That's all Israel wants, is to a little more like Germany, in that respect. If Germany objects to the reform bill, they should overhaul their own justice system, take the committee members chosen by the parties off the committee, and have all their judges be chosen by fellow judges. They should let all their courts overturn any law they wish, based upon personal ideology, instead of measuring them against Basic Law. Let Germans live under the tyranny, of a soviet style of autocratic, self appointing judges, and see how they feel. Or maybe, they should stop mind their own business. The Israeli people voted for reform. Let democracy prevail.

OK, so the humoral immunity wanes, in older people, after half a year. I'm curious how much cellular immunity is left after half a year, in older individuals. Did they do in vitro testing to determine this? It's interesting, in that a similar vaccine against SARS, still showed IgG, after two years, that the humoral response has waned so quickly. I'd assume this is more to a different antigenicity, of the predominate strain, than actual loss of B cell memory. I'd also be curious, since older people are often on medication for high blood pressure, and these drugs result in an increase of ACE-2 receptor sites, to see if being on those drugs make a person more readily infected.

Mitch 1066 No, the people falsely calling themselves Palestinian today, are Arabs, from Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, etc.. They have no unique culture, they are the same Arab families and clans you find throughout the Arab world. And, prior to the Egyptian, Arafat, coopting a name meant for Jews, the Arabs didn't identify as Palestinian.

It isn't Netanyahu's doing, it is the courts. Every since Aaron Barak started taking power, that the courts legally were not granted, they have been acting more and more like deranged tyrants. The people are sick of judicial overreach, and elected this government to claw back the stolen power. Netanyahu, and more specifically the Levin and Rothman, must pass this reform, or the people will elect another government to do so. The heartbreaking thing, is all the entitled racists, who think that Mitzrachim and religious Jews are inferior to them, so are protesting against the reforms the majority of the nation demand.

Good, the police have proven themselves to be corrupt, and in the pocket of the judicial, authoritarian oligarchs. They brutally suppress the majority, on the right, when they dare to have a peaceful protest. Yet, let the agitators and rioters, on the left, run amok. Since they have proven themselves too partisan, to be trusted, a protective force, that actually will protect all the people, not just the entitled elites of Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan, is needed. The periphery pays taxes too! They face more danger, and deserve protection as well!

Could this station at least try to be unbiased? The rhetoric and violent protests are coming from the left. If the right had done the same, they would have been arrested. And, Lapid did break the law numerous times, during his brief reign as interim PM, acting as if he was an autocrat above the law. Since the left has no problem arresting and trying the right, for nonexistent crimes, is it so extreme to ask the left be arrested, or at least investigated, for the crimes they really did commit? Why was the investigation, into Gantz defrauding the Israeli police, quashed?

These jerks are just like the January 6 insurrectionists. Their side lost the last election, and like a bunch of entitled brats, they cannot cope. Israel suffered for two years, under the corrupt, mendacious, autocratic government they wanted, but threw off the shackles. Now, because things are going to be made more just, democratic, and just plain fair, they are upset over losing some of that privilege they've become accustomed to. What sort of high tech "workers" are these? I doubt they are programmers, but more likely just unit secretaries, and other less productive people. If news channels, like this one, didn't report on their juvenile temper tantrum, they'd go away. Stop covering this nonsense, it isn't news.

Thank you minister Rothman. This crazy idea, that unelected jurists, appointed by an unelected committee, should be able to override democratically passed laws, based upon their personal emotions, must no longer hold the country hostage. And the talking head's stupid objection, that a unconstitutional action by Biden, was stopped by the courts, is moronic. Presidents appoint justices, and the Senate approves them. Cases must filter up through lower courts, and the claimant must have standing. Which justices get to decide is not determined by the chief justice. And they only overturn laws prevented by the Constitution. None of these things are true in Israel, everything is based upon self selecting jurists opinions.

This is what happens when fools give credence to dreams. A crazy black woman dreamed that she was really Jewish, when she had no connection to Jews. That is basis from their false assertions, that they are the real Jews. None of these people carry any genes, associated with Jews. That is not to say there are not black Jews, mainly from Ethiopia and Ghana, but these people are not them. They are violent, and often try to kill the real Jews, as they usurp our history. If they were willing to go through the conversion process, that would be fine, but they just declared themselves to be the only true Jews. They have no place in Israel, as they illegally remained in Israel, after traveling on a tourist visa, from the USA. They should be deported back to the USA.

Calling evil, genocidal terrorists, in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s, "youngsters" is a misnomer. Call them what they are genocidal occupiers of another people's land. None of the terrorists, whether they are in Fatach, or another terror organization, have any intention of peace. Oslo was a mistake, based upon stupid misperceptions. Let the native people, forced from their homes, by the Jordanian army, return to their land. Undo the vile ethnic cleansing, and remove the occupiers. That is the only way to peace.

When I first made friends with ultra-orthodox people, I was appalled by the amount of disposable dinnerware I had to use to entertain them. It made sense, in a way, I was perfectly willing to buy some plates and utensils for them, and wash them separately in a special dish tub. They told me that they trusted me to maintain kashrut, but not my husband. So, with them, I used plastic. And when they entertained, they also used plastic disposables, exclusively. That's a way to go through a lot of plastic. Another place I see a lot of plastic waste is in water bottles. With so many places relying on desalination for its water supply, you don't even have to filter water, to get the weird taste out. And, it is so much more affordable to get a couple of solid water bottles, and fill them before you go on a hike or out dancing.

This reporter demonstrates what has gone wrong with Yisrael Hayom, since Adelson died. That formerly honest newspaper now employs the same sort of biased reporters as Yedioth Ahornoth. He makes a false assumption, that Yamina will get fewer votes, if Shaked says she'll go with Netanyahyu. Why make that assumption? The reason that Bennet had to withdraw as party leader was, Yamina voters were angry with him, that he did not form a coalition with Likud, and instead went with a left leaning coalition, just so he could grab power. It is more logical to assume, considering the anger of right leaning voters, that she'd get more seats if she promises to go into coalition with Likud. Gideon Saar's Tikvah Hadasha can continue getting the few right-wing, anti-Bibi votes. And nobody would believe Lapid, if he claims to be on the right. Nobody will forget that he only got into journalism, and then politics, through his connections from his father. And Tommy Lapid was Shinui, very left.

As long as Trump is picking candidates, based only on the metric of, will they claim the 2020 elections were rigged, despite all evidence to the contrary, Republicans will be handicapped. By all past midterm result, the Republicans should have gained control of both houses of Congress. They know Trump only brings losses, but are terrified of his reactionary base. Trump can't pick winners, but has ensured any who dared stand up to him, lost their primary. With control of the House, rather than use their power wisely, to pass legislation that fulfills their promises, of better border control and lessening crime, they will waste time posturing in endless investigations of the Jan 6 investigative committee, and the dick pics on Hunter Biden's laptop. McCarthy may become Leader, but will spend all his time trying to keep his fractured and fractious caucus in line, and accomplish nothing. Republicans will squander any chance to pass useful laws, and will probably close down the government, as they've done before.

Just because a group of racists, who call the majority of the country baboons, and think they are better than the electorate, want to keep their unfair privileges, is no reason to give into their tantrums and fits. Pass the judicial reform now. If any changes are made to the bill, they should be stronger in taking back the power the courts have illicitly stolen. With no constitution, by which to measure laws, they should never have been allowed to ever overturn a law. Restore every law they have illicitly tampered with, overturn every decision that is not based upon the law exactly as it is written. Restore justice, by making the demographics of the court match those of the country, in ideology and ethnicity.

So, the elites of Mosad and Shbak, who disabled the sensors, and went to party in Eilat, leaving few guarding the fence, got what they want. They have completely derailed judicial reform, and at such a dear price. But, who cares if a few thousand innocent Israelis die, as long as the elite can suppress democracy, and keep absolute control. Why is the answer to such a treacherous act, bringing in the architect of this disaster, Gantz, into the government? It was Gantz, who came up with the wrong headed idea, that letting in guest workers, from occupied Aza, would keep Hamas from acting. He is not an asset.

In any country with true justice, the illegally brought prosecution, against Netanyahu, would be tossed out because, the investigation was initiated illegally, the evidence is fabricated, testimony was coerced though illegal surveillance, torture and blackmail, and has been illegally altered. These is the sort of garbage, that the Soviet Union was known for, generate false evidence, to bogusly try and convict any political opposition. The leftist courts treat the politicians on the right, like Putin has treated Navalny, and other possible competition.

Since Israel, like Ukraine, is the victim of constant war crimes, genocidal attacks against her civilians, committed by the arab invaders and terrorists, if the ICC does not hold Hamas, Fatach, and the other islamic terrorists responsible, and instead continues to blame the victim, they have proven they are racist war criminals themselves. Hold the ICC responsible for the war crime of blaming the victim, and pretending the invaders have any right to live on stolen land.

What is the proof that support has dropped, for the needed judicial reform? You just saw a march of half a million people, who came from all overt the country, in support. And unlike the "protestors" against democracy, they weren't paid to do so, but actually used their own money. A few people, on the beaches of Tel Aviv, said they were no longer is support, so what? The rich, entitled elites, that can afford to loaf around Tel Aviv, were never for equality or democracy, the dictatorship of the partisan courts suited them fine. Why not do your polls in the periphery, of working people, and discover the strong support for reform.

In 1948, when Israel became a country again (minus the 70% of ancient Israel that the UK gave to foreign Arabs to form Jordan) the Jordanian and Egyptian armies invaded, drove the Jews from their homes and fields, and occupied them. That is how Arabs came to control Gaza, and much of Judea and Samaria, including half of Jerusalem, the war crime of ethnic cleansing. In 1964, the Egyptian, Arafat, told the Arab occupiers, if you call yourself Palestinian, fools will forget you aren't from here. And he was correct. Too many college students don't know that all Jews originated in Israel and Jordan, and that none of those calling themselves Palestinian, are native to the land they occupy. That they support the colonizers, over the indigenous people, is obscene.

The National Institute of Health (US) conducted a study on whether you are more likely to protect yourself, with a gun you own, or be shot with it. Here is what they concluded"
"Results. After adjustment, individuals in possession of a gun were 4.46 (P < .05) times more likely to be shot in an assault than those not in possession. Among gun assaults where the victim had at least some chance to resist, this adjusted odds ratio increased to 5.45 (P < .05).
Conclusions. On average, guns did not protect those who possessed them from being shot in an assault. Although successful defensive gun uses occur each year, the probability of success may be low for civilian gun users in urban areas. Such users should reconsider their possession of guns or, at least, understand that regular possession necessitates careful safety countermeasures."
In other words, you far more likely to be shot, if you own a gun than if you don't.

You omitted the class/tribe element of the whole affair. The Ashkenazi Communists wanted all the power, and suppressed the Sephardim and Mitzrachim. Much of the government was designed with communist ideals, although the country has moved away from them. Agencies, like the post office, assigned jobs according to who had vitamin P, and the plum jobs always went to Ashkenazi leftists. Pity the poor olim from Arab countries, who were treated like peasants, even if they were well educated, they got the worst jobs. Maybe at least one commentator should have been Mitzrachi, or at least Sephard mamash. These two left out the ideology/ethnicity struggle that made Ben Gurion refuse Begin even a speck of power. Of course a Likud PM would feel a connection with the Irgun, not the Haganah. To this day, Likud is the most democratic, least racist, of the parties; the only one that lets its members vote on the slate of MPs.

Netanyahu is not in jail. And the fact that an investigation was begun illegally, based upon political animus, not evidence, that witnesses were coerced into giving false testimony, through blackmail and torture, and the fact that even though the judge determined that much of the evidence was illegal, still won't throw the case out, proves the need for judicial reform. A justice system is supposed to be blind, showing no fear or favor, not be a political tool, for one side (the left) to use against the other. The current Israeli justice system is much more like what they have in Russia, Iran or North Korea, than one a modern democracy should have.

Pretending a pandemic is over, when it clearly is not, will only result in more sickness, disability and death. How many times has one wave, one variant, passed, only for another to start. Looking at the stats, it's clear that BA.2 is on its way. It is now the dominant variant in Africa, and many parts of Europe. It will only be a week or two, before it becomes the dominant variant in Israel. And it is both more immune evasive than omicron (having about 30 additional amino acid changes, mostly in the S protein), and more virulent than delta. Now is not the time for self congratulation, and dropping of public health measures.

@mohammedsamura3151 So muslims conquered and colonized a lot of land, killing many of the indigenous people (like Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt). In Morocco, they mostly just converted the locals, who are Berbers, not Arabs. Those Berbers remain there today. The Sahrawi, who are occupying the Western Sahara, are Arabs. If you're so angry about Arab invaders, why wouldn't you want the Berbers to keep control of their land, instead of letting the Sahrawi get it.

Gee, when people protested against Oslo, they were tossed into jail for months, without a trial, for blocking even side streets. Why are these entitled bigots allowed to block major avenues? Why are they so afraid of living in a more democratic country, with a bit more justice? Oh right, they'd have to give up some of the special privilege, they've always enjoyed, over darker skinned and more religious Jews. The horror of equality drives them to commit disgusting crimes. Toss them all in jail, and hold them there, until the court reform is passed, just like the Oslo protestors were over much less.

It is not the much needed judicial reform, to return the power of those the people elect, from the despotic courts that illegally stole it, that is divisive, but the lies the autocrats tell about democracy. Every member of the opposition, now saying restoring democracy will be its end, have advocated for the exact same judicial reform the people voted for. The divisiveness, of the rioters, is just an obvious ploy to demoralize the public, and bring down their government, so that the autocratic elites can continue to reign without benefit of election. There is even recording of the instigator of these illegal riots, Ehud Barak, saying if he can cause enough disruption, and get Jews to kill other Jews, he can return to power without being elected.

Your title is off, most diaspora Jews understand why Israel has to be cautious. This rabbi is typical of ignorant people, full of opinion, but devoid of facts and logic. He says "nobody would suggest that Israel jeopardize the health of its citizens", and then goes on to insist Israel jeopardizes the health of its citizens. He keeps harping on the fact some South Africans had to travel on Shabbat, like that's the worst thing that could ever happen. No, dying or being disabled from Covid is worse. This rabbi need a bit of perspective. All countries are being stricter with noncitizens, than citizens, regarding entry. Of course people must be allowed to return home, but his home is South Africa. . If this rabbi wants to come and go freely, he should make aliyah, and have to deal with all the bureaucracy of misrad klita.

Judges, and those not elected by the people, should never have any say in choosing judges. Allowing, what has happened in Israel, can only give rise to a dictatorial tyranny, from the bench. Don't cave in to the entitled, bigoted oligarchs, make the reform complete! Forbid the courts ever overturning a law, passed by the democratically elected Knesset, again! Free, democratic countries only allow laws to be overturned if they are unconstitutional. Countries that lack a constitution, never allow this sort of judicial excess and authoritarianism. Stop allowing the unelected legal advisors, forced upon the government, from the partisan, unelected, autocratic, judicial bureaucracy from having the power to stop needed governmental action. Cabinet ministers must be allowed to choose their own advisors, and fire them if they become obstructive.

If the news stations, populated with entitled elites, weren't lying to the people, there wouldn't be any protests. If the police treated these bigoted protestors, the same way they treated the righteous protestors, against Oslo, and tossed them in jail for a couple of months, without trial, there wouldn't be any protests. Of course it is in the interests, of those entitled, well connected few, to maintain the privilege, and stranglehold on democracy, that they have always enjoyed. But, the browner, and more religious, majority are tired of the autocracy and oppression, and demand court reform. That is what they voted for, and that is what they should get. No other constitution-less country allows their courts to overturn democratically passed laws. If the people had any say, in who gets to judge them, like in the US, this autocratic behavior wouldn't be so oppressive, because the people would just remove the dictatorial justices. But they can't. If Israel had jury trials, then jury nullification could deal with the unjust laws, that the courts introduce by fiat. But there are no juries. As it is now, the public has no recourse against the terrible, partisan behavior of this cabal of entitled bigots, who seem to hate anyone not as well connected, secular or light skinned, as they are.

Much of China's inability to contain Covid-19, enough to return to normal operations, is due to the poor quality of their vaccines. As vaccines were being explored, developed, and then tested, China bragged that their inactivated virus vaccines would prove superior, to anything produced by the west. However, the mRNA vaccines have proved uniquely effective, and their platform makes them much more nimble, in response to newer variants. (The adenovirus vectored vaccines are almost as nimble, but don't evoke as strong a response, and adverse side effects that the mRNA vaccines don't suffer from.) Due to the efficacy of the mRNA vaccines, most of the west has reached a point, where a sufficient amount of the population is no longer vulnerable, so can return to normal (despite the disinformation efforts of Russia to fuel anti-vaccination twits). The Chinese vaccines don't evoke an adaptive T cell response (according to an Argentinian study) so each new variant sweeps through that nation, causing hospitalization and death. That is why they have resorted to their draconian zero covid policy. Although it has been offered to them, China has only purchased the western mRNA vaccine for party leaders. They are trying to develop their own mRNA vaccine, but are a year from its release. Frankly, considering the pragmatic and draconian nature of CCP policy, I'm surprised the government hasn't obtained enough western mRNA vaccine, to vaccinate all non-menopausal females, and then let the virus rip through the population.

Yes, we've been having problems getting prescriptions filled at Klalit as well. They keep closing pharmacies, and the one that is still open jumps mothers, with children, to the head of the line, so the wait is forever. Supposedly, you can get your prescription filled online, and have it delivered, but the web site doesn't work. And, the other kupot cholim aren't as many. If you're having problems in Akko, imagine what is like for those in the periphery. Good luck, and chag pesach sameach.

It's one day in the year, and Israel has bigger problems, than your prejudice. There are people, living in Israel, who break far more important mitzvot (commandments), than the one against homosexuality. Every Christian breaks the most important one, the very first one, about only having one g_d. Should they be forced out of Israel, and all their churches torn down? If Israel can accept the abomination of churches, and accept a mosque built on our holiest site, a few gay discos, and a pride parade, is nothing. Have a little perspective.

It's bad enough that the enemies of democracy, who wish to maintain the nepotistic, antidemocratic, authoritarian courts stranglehold on the country, spread absurd lies in Israel. But now, traitors like Livni, are coming onto foreign news sites, spreading their baseless, defamatory lies. Clawing back the power, stolen from the democratic legislature, by soviet like courts, is pro-democracy. Only people who hate a free and fair country are against needed court reform!

The courts consist of judges, who appoint their cronies, to all the benches. It is beyond corrupt, to allow judges to be chosen by their buddies. The courts are not just unjust and corrupt, but because they overturn laws, passed by the people's chosen representatives, based upon their own whims and fancies, the courts are antidemocratic ! Court reform will make Israel more democratic. Economies of democratic countries usually perform much better, than those run by autocrats. By removing the powers the courts have stolen, and returning them to the Knesset, Israel will be more democratic. QED The Israeli economy will benefit from court reforms. Anyone saying otherwise is lying.

A historically tyrannical move. When Netanyahu was interim PM, he wasn't allowed to make deals that lasted into the next government. There is a law that requires approval by the Knesset and a national referendum, to give up territory or rights of the nation. But, no referendum has been held, and this "agreement" has not been endorsed by the Knesset. It seems the rules are different for the left, proof of the high courts bias, which is corrupt. Only in dictatorships, like North Korea, Russia and China, or lawless nations, is the 'justice' department used as a political tool. The courts allowing this shady, illegal deal to proceed, despite the laws it breaks, is proof of its corruption. Of course, the fact Gantz has never been indicted, and investigations were hastily quit, despite the evidence of his defrauding the Israeli police and illegally serving, as a tool of Qatar, shows how corrupt the courts are. As does the illegally brought investigation of Netanyahu, and indictment that was not tossed out, when it turned out "evidence" was obtained through blackmail and illegal wiretaps, and "witnesses" whose stories keep changing. Rather than reporting on this shady, corrupt, illegal deal, with great fanfare, it should be discussed as further evidence of the need for a complete reform of the courts.

I think we were there at the same time. I remember wishing I had a crate of snow shovels to sell. It was amusing, watching storekeepers trying to shovel away the snow with a metal rod. People put plastic bags over their socks, to keep their feet dry. We were at Migdal Ha'ir, and could watch as each driver got into their car, then realized, as they slithered down the road, that they had no control. Eventually, enough cars had piled up at a steep curve, that drivers realized they had to walk home. I landed a day before the storm, but my bag got delayed. It arrived at TLV 12 hours later, but I had to wait a week for the roads to be passable into Jerusalem, to get it.

Gee, so maybe it was a bad idea to disarm people, when they defended themselves from unprovoked Arab attacks. Give back all the guns, taken from Jewish defenders, and do something about the illegal guns, that the Arabs have. Since many are stolen from the IDF, shoot on sight any intruder onto army bases. And reform the courts, since they usually side with the invaders, not the defenders. Institute jury trials, so a little common sense will determine judgement. And, get more police on patrol. Most sit behind a desk all day, and protect nobody.

No, Lapid is like Trump. He's stupid, but because he was born to privilege, he has always lived the good life. He is so stupid, that he couldn't complete high school. Yet, his daddy made sure he had a safe, cushy spot while in the army. He thinks because he won the birth lottery, he is better than everyone else, and when given power, uses it to harm the country and enrich himself, ignoring the law.

Oh gee, a security force to provide every citizen, even those with darker skin living in the periphery, with some safety, and it will cost about the same as the illegal "security" measures taken to protect Bennett's home for a year. Good for Ben Gvir, taking steps to safeguard the entire nation. Good for Netanyahu, for keeping his word, despite the lies coming from those willing to burn the nation down, to keep undemocratic power. Do those, working at this station, ever listen to themselves, and realize how racist they sound? Would they ever consider giving an unbiased report?

Of course Gantz likes an unjust Israel, where the partisan self-appointing courts ignore all the crimes on the left, while inventing those for politicians on the right. Gantz knows, in a just country, the investigations into his defrauding the police, and serving as an undeclared agent of a hostile country (Qatar) would not have been quashed. If there were justice in Israel, he'd be in jail, for his crimes, as would Lapid and Bennet. Criminals, like Gantz, don't want equality and justice.

REFORM IS NEEDED and that is what the people voted for! Currently, the self-appointing courts are destroying democracy. Not only do they overturn good laws, based upon their feelings, not actual law, but they are corrupt in the manner they operate. They accept illegally brought prosecution, based upon manufactured evidence, and witnesses who perjure themselves due to blackmail using illegal surveillance, against politicians on the right. And they quash investigations and cases of real crimes, committed by politicians on the left. Any just court would have tossed the case against Netanyahu, because of illegally obtained evidence and witness perjury. No just justice system would have quashed the investigation into Gantz defrauding the police, or allowed Lapid to act outside of his authority, and make illegal deals and appointments.

This government only works to enrich itself, not for the indigenous people. Is it any wonder, that a government that has members of the Muslim Brotherhood, lets the worst spate of terrorist genocide occur? Bennet knows, that due to his betrayal of Yamina's voters, his party will never win another seat, and rips off the taxpayers, on his way out. Will he repay the cost of renovations to his Raanana home? Of course not. The left used the justice department as a cudgel against LIkud, since they could not beat them fairly, and illegally started an investigation, then brought an indictment based upon false charges and testimony obtained through blackmail. All Meretz has is lies, false innuendos and threats. They don't care about what is good for the country, only themselves.

The Arab spokesman said, referring to the Ukrainian war, "This is a mess that the US created." How exactly? Did the US tell Russia to invade another country? No, this is a mess Russia created, and the whole middle east should be wary of the Russians. Turkey is practically a Russian puppet, despite its NATO membership. Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan would be easy picking, as would be all FSU Muslim countries. The Russians control Syria now, if they win in Ukraine, who will be next? Lebanon is weak because of internal infighting, and would be an easy conquest. If not for US forces, the same would be true of Iraq. Russia realizes that oil gives them more power than their military. Why not take it all? Does Saudi Arabia think they could push back a Russian invasion without US assistance? There's nothing to stop Russia conquering all the oil producing countries of Asia, but the US. If Gulf nations were clever, they'd use this as an opportunity to convince the US to return the Houthis to the terror list and demand Iran give up its terror sponsorship, in return for increasing oil production, instead of playing one side against the other.

Yes, honest reporting calls this area by its proper name, Yudah and Shomron. It is an error to call it by the invader's name, We should start referring to that huge chunk of land, partitioned off from Israel, as the East Bank, not Jordan. Also, it is absurd to refer to the Arabs as Palestinian, as they are not indigenous. Calling them by that false name, is akin to calling the Russians occupying parts of Ukraine, Donbasian.

This government cannot fold soon enough ! Yamina has betrayed its voters. It claimed to be on the right, yet oppresses the right. How can a government, with members of a terrorist group, fight terrorism. Chikli and Silman are the only ones standing up for what their party is supposed to represent. A party on the right, should not tear down Jewish homes, built on Jewish land, while hooking up illegal Arab homes, built on Jewish land, to water and power. The only things this coalition promised, which were good, were ensuring an egalitarian space at the Kotel, and allowing secular marriages. They have kept neither of these promises, while bending over backwards for the Arab Brotherhood, and thus costing Jewish lives. Bring on the vote of no confidence.

The head of FIFA proved to be aptly named, as he acted like an infant, throwing a hypocritical temper tantrum. How dare fans object to the billions in bribes he, and his cronies, received from Qatar? How dare they object to the games being held in November rather, than late spring or early summer, as they usually are? How dare fans object to the deaths of thousands of foreign workers, treated as slaves, as they built the stadium. How dare they object to international games being held in a country where being gay merits death? How dare they object to Qatar reneging on its agreement to serve beer, in the stadium, right before the games began? (Allowing beer was a proviso they had to stipulate to, in order to get the games.) How dare fans object to the $7.4 million dollar bribe, paid to the Ecuadorian team, to lose the opening match? He acts like his total corruption is perfectly fine, and football fans are wrong to object to it.

The high court needs to be limited. They are self appointing, and the resulting cronyism means they only work for the good of the left, and against most of the people. The Knesset legislates, and the court overrides laws on a whim, thus preventing any laws that would improve the state. Since they ignore any crime committed on the left, or by arabs, but are willing to allow prosecution, based upon manufactured evidence, against the right, they are working as a political tool of the left. So, of course, since the court is biased against those on the right, it is the parties from the right who want their tyranny quelled. It's not just Likud, but all who have suffered the court's excesses and prejudice, on the right, who want them reined in.

@merle-wq9ir Leftie or not, you're completely wrong. Since the ultra-left jurist, Barak, decided the courts should rule the nation, not those the peole elect, Israel is no longer a democracy, but an autocracy, ruled by a self-appointing, highly partisan court. Notice how politicians on the left, and the rioters harassing the government, can commit whatever crimes they want? But those on the right have to face fabricated charges? This is a sign of a lack of justice. Autocracy must be ended, and democracy and impartial justice restores.
