Well it is like this. This man is completely insane and probably possessed. That is why he has different personalities, one calmly questioning his son, one a deranged killer. He probably did a lot of strange drugs, maybe bath salts and who knows what, where he just loses contact in a rage. Then the Muslim thing, it sounds like he was on a jihad killing spree. Maybe he was possessed by Allah or some Middle Eastern demonic entity. The son wasn't shocked by his father speaking calmly to him. I think this man was sometimes calm and in control, that that is why the mother let him in. Maybe the people who didn't let him in knew the state he was in and that it wouldn't be safe. He is not connecting emotionally with anything that happened, not because maybe he doesn't care at all, but because he is preoccupied with some sort of demonic being taking his mind. I think it is sad all around honestly. A demon did those terrible crimes, and this man was somehow a vessel for it. People treating him like he is a rational, thinking person are way off. He isn't all there.

Brian is probably in a CIA prison camp while the police carry on the charade of searching for him when he isn't a suspect or under arrest. They probably slipped him out when they searched his house all of a sudden. The family has to support the narrative, or they will be next. They are covering for some sex trafficking ring that the police are involved in. They thought no one would miss a couple of homeless hippies. They thought they knew what kind of people they were dealing with when they spent an hour and a half with them over a nonincident. They figured them to be ultra compliant and unsuspecting.

If your girlfriend is punching you, and you have a cop tailing you, and you aren't used to being in trouble, you are probably going to drive erratically. I believe his story pretty much. I think the police are involved in this crime and now coverup. He might be a dopey boyfriend, but if they lasted together this long, there should have been red flags.

Yeah really he isn't all there. He is grunting the whole time she is talking, like maybe a demon is acknowledging her. He did look down in shame when she said what he did. I think he is talking in a rambling way, yelling, and just off the chain.

Do you think someone could hide there or not? It is full of tourists, hunters, dogs, etc. I mean Eric Frein managed to hide in the Pocono foothills of it for a while, but he got tired of being alone that long. I think that is what does people in.

@FLAMINGBABYHEAD Yeah because if you have ever been there, you would know how it is full of people and crisscrossed by roads. This isn't WWII where people can disappear in the woods. Even then those people had to keep coming out for supplies and basically hide or kill to get them. It isn't the Alaskan tundra.

The man is obviously deranged. For the judge to write a novel about it, getting all dramatic and sentimental isn't helping move things along. If this man really has no feelings, then all she is doing is stroking his ego at how much drama she is getting from it. There is no need to speculate on all the feelings and wax on about how she felt. This wasn't personal against her. I don't know any facts of this case. I just think judges are supposed to be sober and impartial and not overly identify with the victims. She will make it so he gets out on appeal do to her being histrionic. If he murdered people, he gets the sentence, done and goodbye.

Dog makes some interesting points, but I do think that was him in the picture in Mexico. I think he might have driven to the swamp and then got picked up by a boat that took him to Mexico. He looked kind of lost in the picture of him in the restaurant like he didn't know what to do next. You can't survive in the Appalachian mountains. For one thing, there is FBI all over the AT looking for fugitives. He might know camping and be trying to find somewhere to camp in Mexico, but it is hard to survive if you don't speak Spanish. For all we know, he does speak Spanish because he is from Florida and people commonly study it in high school. The cartels wanting him for a ransom is an iffy point. What if they turn him in and get caught themselves? I don't think they are fans of working with law enforcement unless it is their way. They probably respect a criminal if they are criminals. I think a lot of criminals escape to Mexico. I never heard of them getting turned in by the cartels.

When the family wen t on the camping trip, they probably took Brian somewhere so that he could get away. Of course the police aren't investigating that but going buggy riding through a swamp instead.

@Justin-yc1ig I think he had a hard life and is playing a character, so he is kind of not what you would think. I don't think he means any harm though. I think he is trying to help.
