  1. It could be a gang hit. Either they are in the same or rival gangs, or it is a mistaken identity. Those two fired at the door twice, and then they both tried to kick it in. The resident was ready with a gun somehow and wasn't afraid to fire a round. If he is being targeted for some reason, he should stay in that apartment. It has a solid door, and they are afraid to go back there now. If he is wandering the streets homeless, he will be more vulnerable. The maintenance has to replace the door. They might be in on it if they knew he needed his filter checked. You can't find another place to live. Don't leave anywhere without someone you are sure you can stay. Being homeless is an even bigger problem. The rents are too high. If you tell your new landlord that you want to move due to a shoot-out through your front door, they might not want to even rent to you thinking you will bring trouble.
