  1. He has a lot of stamina for an older guy. He is fighting for democracy under essiantially hardcore communist rule. He doubts Ping will change, but is still hopeful. The threat to the west with all the power China has economically, militarilly, and diplomatically, is that their way of rule is going to spread here. American corporations love China slave labor sweat shop factories with no safety measures. They buy off the US government, essentially leaving us as a puppet state to their interests.
