I think there is a lot of human trafficking in prostitution going on there, maybe with children too. That is the part maybe they wouldn't talk about. Women aren't doing that to earn money to feed their families, they are lured there thinking they will have a normal job, and then get trapped into doing that. They were the only ones afraid to talk on camera because they are under control of some traffickers who would kill them in a heartbeat. That is nice the police came right away and broke up a dangerous situation. I doubt it would have worked out like that in the USA. You would either be under arrest, or someone would have been possibly shot if they even showed up. It is nice someone stepped up to help. That man saw you filming and just wanted to harass you. Some people are psychotic like that. They hate to see certain people minding their own business and pick a fight. Maybe you should have made a report to get him off the street where he is a danger.
