  1. I don't understand why they are killing the cows just to let them die either. If you don't want to do the business any more, let them forage on the grassland in the wild. I think the business model is all wrong where everything is about money and control then capitalizing on the profits. If one supply chain isn't working find another or create your own. People will follow the quailty and price, convenience and customer service. Sometimes corporations deliver on that and sometimes small producers. If you business model is too big to manage, scale it back. The factory producer concept is outdated and a self imploding system.

  2. The meat industry isn't sustailable. He should switch to organic farming even if he rents out the land to organic farmers. Heirloom and organic produce is the new emerging market. There is less overhead with this industry. Selling the land will decrease available cropland that is already disappearing.
