They are in the business to get rich, not care for the patients or even the low-level staff. That seems obvious that there should be an alarm on the door if people could get locked out. Maybe the door shouldn't be locked period. That could happen to anyone that they get locked out by accident. That late at night, who could have buzzed her back in? Care mean you watch them and make sure that they are okay. She was left to her own devices in a hostile and cold environment. Parents should be kept at home with family, and they should hire a neighbor or friend to assist with care. The for-profit agencies take advantage, and their employees don't have a personal interest in the patient so much as the need for a low paying job. There should at least have been a doorbell outside any door that locks so the person can get back in.
