This comes with the territory of living in the urban jungle.

That is a dumpy little room, and these people are begging for their lives to stay there. All these corporations care about is making more money. You used to be able to find one of these SROs just about anywhere to crash while you figured out what to do next. Now it is the only home these people can find, and it is being taken from them. This one is clean, so it isn't the neighbors protesting them out of town. It is just the landlord looking to capitalize on the situation instead of looking out for his neighbors. Maybe he isn't even from the area. Once you lose a place these days, you can't find another unless you are from the upper end of the income spectrum.

No eviction filings even if you beat the eviction. No criminal record. Perfect references. You have to be essentially without any issues, or you are homeless.

This woman saved a lot of other seniors from the one predator, but how about the rest? How about a system that allows this? They couldn't deny her showing up with the right evidence. She knew to ask for a female cop and to call the police directly. You handle it the wrong way, and they will just ignore it. You are better off hiring a private caregiver who isn't hired by an agency, someone you know who you can trust to take care of elderly at home. These strangers usually don't care or if they do, the system ties their hands. Nursing homes are very miserable places.

The hospitals and nursing homes did this woman no good. She would have been better off at home alone figuring out how to take care of herself. It is disgusting the abuse and neglect people suffer in the alleged care of others. They can't even leave you alone when you are sick and elderly, some pervert has to bother this woman. There are psychos that just need to hurt others and feel that sense of power and dominance. This woman sounds so vulnerable even now. She couldn't even scream for help in there? It is like a psychological death camp. I think the seniors can't hold conversations because they are drugged up and treated like they don't matter to the point that their minds go blank. Then the staff can have their way with them. This is a horrible medical system in the USA.

You probably are.

@vespaman101 They should be illegal. You were never allowed to do that before. It is like running a hotel without the licensing and inspections. Same thing with Uber. You are getting in a stranger's car with no license, background check or culpability. It is destroying the rental market. People are displaced for the sole reason the landlord can make more money running this Air B&B nonsense. Cabbies are being put out of business. I really think it is not fair to the lower classes to have these unfair unregulated entities as competition. The Air B&B doesn't need a CO and inspection. They just go right ahead and start charging a lot of money. If people are winding up homeless, something has to be done. I don't think it should be legal to evict someone in order to convert to an Air B&B at the very least, but then greedy landlords would run the tenants out some other way.

Excuse them for dying in front of you and ruining your luxury atmosphere.

Well she doesn't look all that smart to me. She was young and inexperienced with firearms perhaps. Maybe she was that on edge and didn't really stop to see who she was shooting just that is was a big man coming in her door. That says something about people having firearms in their house for protection. More often than not, they are used on a member of the household rather than an intruder threatening their life. There is more to owning and shooting a gun than target practice. You need to know the psychology of when to use that type of force. They both look pretty conservative, so I don't know that she was cheating or anything like that. I think it was possibly a very stupid accident.

That is why the son is scared to go there now. If those other men didn't jump in and hold the guy in a chokehold, he would have made away with the boy.

Homeless not bums. It is a weak show of respect. Bums are those who ignore people suffering around them.
1
They turned this housing into an AIR B&B? Those should be made illegal. They are displacing too many people.

Let the homeless have these stuck up people’s apartments.

Those places are barely livable no less.

I think they want bad people around the elderly just like governors like Cuomo put the COVID patients in nursing homes to infect the other patients. Most of the people who died from COVID were in nursing homes. It is a death camp disguised as a health care facility. If you want to so much as rent an apartment, you are background checked, credit checked, etc. Why do they let known criminals have these jobs then? The patients are treated like they are being used for profit, not humans who need special care and attention. There is a good movie on Netflix called, "I'm Here To Help". It shows how the elderly are scammed and shoved into rest homes so self appointed care givers can loot their wealth. They are literally robbed and held prisoner and threatened just so opportunists can make a living.

He was going to sell the boy into sex trafficking. How is some random Hispanic boy his son, and why would he grab him like that? I am glad that the other guys jumped in right away. It looks like the police are trying to find a way to let him go. He should be charged with attempted kidnapping.
