I knew a landlord who would cut off the electricity, and the tenant would pay up. A contract should protect both parties, not just the tenant. If one fails to keep it, the other shouldn't have to.

This is so evil what they are doing to the landlords. It is actually persecution of landlords in the name of tenants' rights. I think they should be allowed to wait for him to go to work, change the locks, put his things in a Pod or U-Haul type vehicle, and tell him take your stuff--you are out. If he doesn't take his things, then they should just donate them or dump them. It isn't fair to force landlords to take care of freeloaders. They won't even apply for the government aid. I understand landlords are often a pain and unfair, but this is just stealing. There won't be any more small landlords if all they get is abuse. Then where are people supposed to live? How will they afford apartments?
